Thrilling Cities started life a series of Sunday Times articles. Based around two trips, one in 1959 and the next in 1960. The book includes material edited out of the original articles. It also includes photographs of the various cities.
Fleming's account is highly personal. Its a little like 007 himself is giving us his experiences and impressions. Each chapter closes with what Fleming called “Incidental Intelligence”. This deals with the hotels, restaurants, food and night life. Full of facts from a bygone era.
