Meh, I enjoyed it enough. The first part of the novel is really focused on gay panic and that was entertaining. Then the second portion of the story was focused on Simon keeping secrets, having sex, and mild misunderstandings so I enjoyed it less. The ending was cute and satisfying though. 3 stars.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My first book by this author and OMG... I'm in love!? FABULOUS story!! Watching Frankie and Hawke struggle to find love... a first date ending in friendship and a friendship leading to finding your true soulmate. So many incredible characters, having dealt with and survived so much.. Yaya is a trip, Marie is a fabulous friend and Axle surely keeps it fun and exciting! A beautiful story about two people coming together and finding what they truly need in each other and unconditional love between two people that truly understand one another. But in the end, can they move beyond their past? KILLER cliffhanger ending.. my heart is breaking and I'm left DYING to know where these two end up next!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended read!!
When the Day Comes is a unique read.
Libby lives two different lives in two time periods, 1774 Colonial Williamsburg and 1914 Gilded Age New York City. As her 21st birthday approaches she will need to choose one path to stay on for the remainder of her life. She is confident in the path she wants to take, but then there is an unexpected event.
This book was well written. The author makes a smooth transition back and forth between the two time periods. It was interesting reading the main character's role in both eras as these are two historical points. Libby takes action in both eras to do good for the cause. I liked the twist at the end.
The story did seem predictable, but I still enjoyed seeing how the character handled the situation. The story has brief situations that were hard to read so check that before reading.
Overall this was a wonderful read.
