Great read! This is quite a different look into daily life under King John. One family in particular is in the middle of trying to figure out how to make life better under his rule. Mahelt Marshall is not just anyone, she is the daughter of William Marshall, trusted advisor of the king. However, life is never certain, and Mahelt is not one to back down to anyone, including her father in law. Learning how to be herself and live under her husbands roof is something that will test Mahelt's patience as well as challenge what she thought about herself.
