I am torn about this book, on one hand I enjoyed the premise. An Earl undercover compromises his reputation for his country, and becomes known as Lord Treason, while searching for the real person committing treason. He finds himself one morning with a young woman whom he inadvertently compromised, so he proposes. Seems reason enough. She, Willa, says yes, but all of a sudden she hates him. What? She said yes! I didnt get the flip flop of her.
Then she tries very hard to win his affections, which I appreciated very much. I liked Willa, truthfully. I really liked Aunt Myrtle, but I didnt like the ending. I dont know why, but the way Basil and Daphne ended just didnt sit well with me. I guess I felt bad for them.
