I can't help but to give this book a solid 5 stars. It was THAT good! This is a psychological thriller and one hell of a ride. You didn't know if you were coming or going. You didn't know what was up and what was down. You didn't know what was real and what wasn't. By the end of the book the truths are revealed and you still don't know whether to trust it or not.
This was so well written! Ien's feelings were so raw. The angst, the uncertainty, the pain, the questions, the memories, the love, the sadness, the hope, the dreams that crashed and folded in on itself, the broken... it all came at you head on, page after page, not once allowing you to take a breath or a break from the insanity and what's worst, you felt that all of it belonged to you, the reader.
This was a re-telling of the Phantom of the Opera and as a fan of that wonderful story I can attest to the fact that not only did Christine Fonseca do it justice but actually went further and made Transcend stand uniquely on its own.
A copy of this book was provided to me by the author for an honest review and for tour purposes.
