The year that broke her heart. The summer that healed it. A dual love story.

I would give this book a solid B because it made me look beyond what the main character was feeling in the very beginning and see that there was something a bit deeper going on than Clem just feeling guilty. I liked how the addictive writing style got me staying up till 2 in the morning before I could put the down. I did think the ending was perfect but the plot had a bit of a blatant build-up quality to it that I wished that it hadn't stopped there, and had more of a conclusion ending to make Clem's story more of a full-circle feel.
Overall I would give Unbreak My Heart a great YA contemporary recommendation because it's not about a love story that could have been but tests of friendship and allowing oneself to know there's more to being happy than there is to being sad.
