I felt that the book had a great build up. Rodale handled the delicate subject a woman's rape very well. However, the book fell apart after the midpoint because I found it hard to believe that a woman as cautious and frightened as Prudence would suddenly be sleeping with our hero and kicking asses. Also, the reveal about our hero's true identity just left a bad taste in my mouth because for a rape victim, trust is EVERYTHING. How could Prudence trust a man who had lied about a fundamental thing such as his identity? How could she be okay about it? It strained credulity for me.
