I feel like this whole series has been like... just not QUITE what I wanted it to be? But still funny and enjoyable to me. But I just wanted more information about VFD and Olaf and such, and like, Olaf and Beatrice are mentioned in this book ONE TIME in passing. Anyway I know I shouldn't judge a book on what I want it to be instead of on what it is... but I really want a DIFFERENT Lemony Snicket prequel series. I really do.

I also kind of forgot some of the stuff from previous books that seems like was important. I also genuinely thought maybe I skipped a book, but according to GoodReads I read them all. I guess they are just very mysterious.

Anyway, I love Lemony Snicket's tone and style SO MUCH that I will forgive it for being a tad convoluted. Overall this series does seem less appealing to actual children than the Series of Unfortunate Events? Am I right? Maybe I'm not right. LIFE IS COMPLICATED AND OFTEN TRAGIC.

Also, this series in particular has a lot of reverence for librarians, so it's delightful to be pandered to in this fashion.

ps: no, this book has nothing to do with Passover except the title
