ReRead November 2022

I didn't remember anything about this story or the couple, but I have to say that they are still one of my two favorite couples from this series. (The only ones that give them real competition is Owen and Mal.) I really like how fun both these guys are and I can see what a novel with them would have been like: no angst and a whole ton of inappropriate flirting.

Original Review

First of all, it must be said that I love criminal/law enforcement romances. Especially in old west stories, I just like the dynamic. Besides that, I do believe that this is my favorite couple from the series. They're both just so fun. Neither is the angry, brooding sort - though Rafael does have stuff in his past) and they have fun together. Sure, one could say that trust came a little fast, but it was so sweet and exactly what I needed after the last book I tried to read. And I really like the fact that there being female Marshals in the old west was not forgotten or ignored. (Okay, it also wasn't important so it wasn't expanded on, but they were there which does count for something.)

Not to mention: Hexas Rangers. lol <3
