To give this book three stars (3.5 would be more accurate) when I gave the first book five seems really harsh. I think, as a whole, this series will still be excellent, but it was blatantly obvious that Wolfsbane is the “throw lots of new info at the reader,” and “bridge the plot/action gap between book one and book three” type of book. I still liked it, and I think it set the stage for a great third book, but overall it didn't compare to it's predecessor, Nightshade, for me.
