Books, Coffee & Passion

Written On My Heart was the first book I've read by Cole Gibsen but it certainly won't be the last. There's something about this beautiful story that I just can't put in words and that's why I've been postponing this review. Words can't do it justice. You have got to read this amazing book to capture its essence. The writing, the characters, everything about this book is absolutely perfect.

Ashlyn stood up to her abusive stepfather and got kicked out of her home with a busted rib. Her mother stayed with him and did nothing to help Ashlyn. So, she has to make it on her own, alone. She works on a coffee shop, lives in a crappy apartment with a roommate who has no sense of responsibility. She's making the best of what she has, trying to save as much money as she can and stay out of trouble. But then there's Emily, her co-worker, they bond and Emily takes Ashlyn to cover up a tattoo of her ex boyfriend's name.

Lane, Emily's brother, is the tattoo artist. Lane is a jerk at first. He acts like that to keep people away, he's been hurt before and that's just a way to protect himself. He lost his father, he's fiercely loyal and always puts his family above his own needs. He is a protector and has a secret. Ashlyn and Lane's attraction is very strong but neither of them are interested in a relationship nor in letting someone in. They're both fighting their personal demons but will they take a chance on each other?

I recommend Written On My Heart to anyone who wants to read a beautifully written story.
