I’m trying to like you, Elmore. I really am.

A fun read if you’re not doing anything. This would be a great airplane read.

She’s a great writer but not here. I got the feeling she loved the idea but copy translate it into a readable book.

A slow mental burn. Find yourself a frosty night, a glass of anything and full evening by yourself.

A fun whodunnit.

This is my favorite Crichton book.

Surprisingly touching. I was expecting something with less heart and all teeth. There is a sweetness to this book that I admired.

It was average and there’s nothing wrong with that. A nice read but nothing earth shattering.

Chabon has a wonderful writer’s voice. That said, this one is not my favorite of his. I thought the story was nice but the characters didn’t hold me. Clearly they held someone. It did win the Pulitzer.

Cute. A really cute read. It had me smiling from start to finish.

Now this is the Michael Chabon I know and love. He is at his best. Damn, I wish I could write like this!!!

Who doesn’t love a little Agatha, and murder and trains???

Sit back and enjoy the ride. Don’t over analyze. That’s not what it’s for.

The Cold War. We could die any second but we were too busy watching Cheers to worry about it.

She did a wonderful job of creating a world full of people I cared about.

Michael was a fascinating writer. I loved his books but I wasn’t crazy about his writing. Still not sure if I made any sense???

When I first read this I asked myself why I was getting involved with a 600 (almost 700) page detective story? Who’s got that kind of time? Turns out, it was worth it. This is one hell of a read.

Amanda is one of the hardest working writers I know. She throws herself into her projects. This was a wonderful story. I love her writer’s voice and I look forward to her future work.

Tim writes the craziest stuff and I mean that in a good way. I want to do a road trip with Tim. That’s my bucket list.

I wanted to like this so bad. But it fell flat.

Not as good as the original but close. Armistead is the best. His words find a home in my heart.

This was such a difficult book to read and I’m really disappointed I had to write that. I want to sit down with the author and ask what exactly was she trying to do?

One of the most beautifully written novels I have ever read. This is my feel good book.

Better than the movie and I loved the movie.

This book hit me hard when I reread it after my grandfather died. It carries a lot of special meaning to me.
