Excellent writing and pacing. The majority of this book kept me guessing. Unfortunately, the ending felt rushed. To many things ended conveniently. I had the feeling the editor wanted to wrap it up and keep it under a certain page count. Aside from my pickiness, this is an excellent read.

Excellent writing and for a while it was working for me but then it jumped the shark. It’s a shame. I was into it.

Wolfe is an interesting writer and this is one of those books where I believe one needs to read more than once to get a full understanding of the layers Wolfe placed. I need to read this again.

Funny. A good, touching and funny book. I was pleasantly surprised.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant writing and storytelling. Winslow paints a beautiful canvas. Every page matters and that’s hard to do.

This is a fun read. A good travel read on a bus.

Kurt had an amazing voice. I wish he was still here. In many ways, he is. A funny, funny read. Use this book to snap out of a hole you crawled into.

Dick Francis has an interesting voice. I’m still not sure if I like his voice or not but for reasons I cannot explain, I’m drawn to his work. This book is a perfect example. He had me till the end. Damn you, Dick!

An emotional, beautifully written novel. This one pulled the heart strings.

Great writing, okay plot. King is hit or miss. This was sort of in the middle but I do need to read it again. Sometimes my opinions change.

My favorite Grisham book. A strong plot and equally strong characters. One of those rare reads where every chapter held its own.

My grandmother had eight sisters. Eleanor reminded me of a few of them. This is a special novel to me. I read it during the holidays when I’m missing people who are no longer here.

This was a little wild and crazy. It was good, not great but I will read it again. I really liked the people in it.

I liked it, but I didn’t love it like so many people do. Don’t get me wrong, it had great writing and plot but I’ve read better. I gave it four stars for the quality of the writing.

Years ago I loaned this book to a coworker. It upset her so much she threw it across the street and scared her neighbors dog. Yes. It’s that good.

An average read but there’s nothing wrong with average. The plot, the writing was okay. I would use it to kill time on a plane or train.

Surprisingly touching. I was not expecting that. Deep thoughts, funny and a whole lot of honesty when it comes to how the world spins.

This one fell flat. I thought the story was half told and the characters half written.
