One for the generally uplifting, feel-good shelf (while also being well written with interesting characters).

Smart and funny.

I can't resist a book about doughnuts. Some minor quibbles - the raccoon of the cover appears only twice, and not until 3/4 of the way through the book. There is a LOT of build up to an abrupt climax, and some unnecessary (to me) detail about math problems.

Awesome spy stuff. Even better than the tv series, although that's excellent.

Cute and sweet

This was fine until the climax, where it really

I love that Kenyon has a cameo in this book, but overall it was depressing and felt scattered.

Much better than I expected, and I look forward to more in this series. There were one or two plot points/tropes that felt old or forced, but that might be unfair given the number of crime/mystery novels I read.

Contemporary with the charm of a golden age mystery. Bennett does a wonderful job portraying the Queen while not shying away from racism, sexism, and colonialism. There are a lot of characters to keep track of in the audio - I might have fared better with the book version.

Charming cozy mystery

DNF. I hated the main characters, and not in a “love to hate them” way.

Endearing and hopeful without being twee or cloying.

In a radical act of self care, I have stepped away from Box's obnoxious vaccine disinformation. It's not healthy to keep screaming at an audiobook. Breathe. Something I can still do thanks to vaccines and masks, p.s.

Recommended reading for anyone who is going to die.

I really liked it until the end. There are a lot of convoluted twists that felt under-established and left me confused about basic plot points. As another reviewer asked, what was it all for?

Gorgeously written, witty, and touching. A tad bipolar in the two storylines, but they were equally compelling.

Excellent collection of short mysteries that honor the iconic Miss Marple while introducing some new territory for our sleuth.

I really liked the twists and unexpected characters in this book, but felt it was missing something. It reminds me of my high school English teacher who would circle the last paragraph of my essays and tell me that my conclusion was actually my thesis. Doing that with Counterfeit would have eliminated the surprise, but maybe a plot restructure would help?

If you are disturbed and frustrated and rendered hopeless by the news over the past few years, and have had parts of your life changed, ruined, or controlled by men (even things like running with pepper spray, etc), this book is extremely satisfying.

Fun and engaging. I was a little thrown by the timeline that seems to place some events in 2021 without ever mentioning the pandemic?

Well, I think I like tennis now. This was fun, with wonderfully flawed characters and a nice “maligned women of the ‘90s” theme.

This was surprisingly good! Stacey Abrams is a woman of many talents.
I wish the audiobook reader had pronounced “recuse” instead of “rescue”...

Omg THIS BOOK! I could not put it down. ALL the feels.
