I quite liked this even with some of the bad moments within it, my only issue was how absolutely stupid the mc is, I hate when romance books make their female mc be really stupid and that's exactly what this book did, throughout the whole book, she was convinced that she was safe even though people were breaking into specifically her places.
2.5 stars
I normally don't mind dark romance books, and I managed to somewhat enjoy this book slightly within the last 100 pages, purely because I was mildly interested in the plot of the story, minus the romance aspect.
I fucking hate Adeline. Every single dark romance book makes the female MC so infuriating, and I can't stand it.
I might read the 2nd book purely because I'm curious.
I was really excited to receive an arc of this book since I adored A dowry of blood. Whilst I did love this book, it just didn't hit the same as A dowry of blood.
I felt like the characters in this book just didn't have enough character development, they felt rushed and under apreciated in her own work. I also felt the relationships were very rushed and had no actual depth to them as much as other books. I loved the concept of the story but just felt like it could've been done a touch better. I also felt that her writing in this book felt a little weaker and just didn't have the poeticness as her last book.
However I did still love this book and will love everything S.T. Gibson will write.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me an arc of this book.
I went into this book knowing that it wouldn't be targeted at me at all. I don't personally have ADHD but have close family and friends that do. I thought this book was really informative and I learnt technical things about ADHD that I never knew about previously, however I think some of the tips and tricks within this book are one's that most people with ADHD already know about and use, and after talking with some of those friends they agreed with me. That doesn't mean however that there weren't tips in there that aren't helpful, some of them were even helpful for me.
I do think this was a great, informative book but it's only a 3 star as I personally don't feel like I can rate it any higher. But if you are someone who has ADHD or wants to learn a bit more about it I do reccommend this book.
Thank you to Rosali Publishing for sending me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book follows Zed, a young boy who lives in a world where demons fall from the sky and are hunted and captured by a series of Hunters. All his life his dad has worked as a hunter and Zed hopes to one day follow in his footsteps. But when Zed befriends a demon, he discovers the lies he's been told all his life, as this demon is just a young, scared boy, no older than Zed himself. Zed's forced into a dilemma, to tell his dad about the demon or to help the demon get back home.
I loved this book. It was a touching, beautiful, well-written story. I loved the futuristic tone of the story, and thought that Zed was a very relatable MC and the issues he faces in life will definitely hit home for some of the younger readers of this story. Overall a great story, I love everything Benjamin Dean writes, he truly is a great storyteller.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an early copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I was really excited for this book and I thought it sounded like a book I would love, but I just really didn't. I didn't feel a connection with any of the characters and I honestly thought some were quite forgettable, I loved the two main siblings however, Finn and Tula I enjoyed their relationship but that was about it. I didn't feel connected to the story and I thought a lot of it was just boring and unforgettable, I took a break from this book since I thought I was going to dnf it and when I came back a few weeks later I just didn't remember anything which isn't normal for me.
I think it was a decent book but just not my type of book.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an arc in exchange for a review.
A murder mystery set in a new hotel on the moon. Ten lucky winners get a trip to the moon to stay in a revolutionary new hotel on the moon, but from the get go there's something wrong, the staff are no where to be seen throwing the contestants through a loop, most of them ignore it and don't worry thinking it's a tv show, until one shows up dead.
I really enjoyed this book, I loved the twists and did not see any of them coming, I was constantly thinking the killer was someone that it wasn't and when the final twist was explained I was in shock. I love the initial plot twist about the first kill, I was fully expecting it to be a purposeful kill, but it wasn't, I was shocked.
The only reason the book just didn't make it to five stars was mainly the characters, I did love all of them, however I found some parts to do with the characters quite confusing, there were instances where Frau Richer was referred to randomly as Charlotte, which threw me off for a minute until I realised and I didn't really like some of the random pov changes, I feel like they happened a bit too much sometimes and happened for no reason.
However I really liked this book, and will be recommending it to anyone who loves murder mystery books.
I was amazed when I saw how low some other people rated this book, I really enjoyed reading it, I loved the little journey I was sort of taken on throughout this book and thoroughly enjoyed most of the poems in here. I thought some of them were written a little bit badly however most of them were written so beautifully and were quite moving and really resonated with me in some way.
I read a modern edition of this for university, an edition of which is not on goodreads so I'm reviewing the original.
I hated the translation we had to read, I'm sure there is good translations of this book out there, but the one I read just really wasn't. It was purely written as an excuse to allow the main characters to swear a lot more and to add some modern pop culture references in it, I found the play incredibly boring and didn't like any of the characters other than two of them, both of which are slightly smaller characters.
Read this after buying it for my boyfriend since he loves Johnny Cash and he didn't know this book existed, and I actually really enjoyed reading this, I really need to try and read more poetry, and Johnny Cash is an incredible writer, both with his music and now with his poems, I am so happy I found this book and was able to read it before giving it away.
I don't really know what to think about this book, I liked parts of it but also didn't like others. I loved the characters, I feel they didn't have much development, hard to do when you've only got just over 200 pages, but I don't know really if I liked the story, I feel like there wasn't really one, I got slighlty bored with having to read all the seperate stories they would tell each other at this midnight club, but that may have just been me. It was a good book, but not my favourite.
I really enjoyed the Hunting Party when I read it so I thought that I would like another book written by Foley, however, this one was substantially worse. I enjoyed the little twist towards the middle of the book and the last roughly 10 chapters were unexpected and felt like a nice close to the book, the rest of the book was just really boring - I felt like nothing much really happened and it was all just filler for the final twist. I didn't like any of the characters or feel like they had any depth at all which just made me feel more disconnected from the book.
This was targeted at my age range so I thought I'd pick it up, sex ed was never a huge thing in any school I went to, and the things we learnt weren't exactly that informative or helpful.
However, reading this, I feel like I just knew all of it already, some of it was very obvious (I know it might not be for all people, but it was for me) and I found myself skipping certain chapters because I was already educated on the matters.
This book could be incredibly helpful for people who do need and want to know this stuff, there is so much in here about how ‘your body is normal no matter what' which could be so, so helpful to younger teenagers who are growing up in a social world full of photoshop and filters, but I feel like for older teenagers, you may already know most of this anyway!
I would still recommend picking this book up if you feel like you need to learn some things about people's bodies and relationships, and I commend the author for writing such an honest book, it just wasn't anything new to me!
My god I hated that book so much.
I found the work hatred between Lucy and Josh so forced and it was so clear a few chapters in that neither actually hated each other and were just in so much denial.
I absolutely hated Lucy and how clueless she was and just how in denial she was, like girl, come on, open your eyes for a minute. I ended up completely skimming the last 100 or so pages because I just wanted it to end.
The only redeeming part which made me give it a 2 instead of a 1 was that there was some cute moments in the last few chapters.
So I may have just read that all in 3 hours.
I've also discovered that I love these romance books. I love the chemistry Olive and Ethan end up having with each other, and like that even once the ‘honeymoon' is over, there's still plently of story and the best part of the plot happens with Olive trying to convince Ali and Ethan about Dean.
I adore this book, and adore Olive and Ethan
3.5
I tend to dislike books that change perspective every chapter, purely because when I put the book down for a few days, I often don't remember everything about the different characters, however, I didn't mind it so much in this book.
I personally didn't see the twist until about 50 pages before it was revealed, I had my guesses on who the victim would be early on, and I was right with one of them.
I think it was a well written book and I liked the idea of it.
