Hold your Kindles! This is not your typical demon love story!
This story is seriously so freaking cute I squealed loudly! An adorable demon who just can't seem to get it right, and a human. They work together in perfect harmony teaching each other a valuable lesson on love and acceptance.
A short demon/human story with a bit of spice! It will warm your heart, quench your soul, and get your pulse racing....all in the same story!
Narration was amazing and I loved the narrator for this short story.
A short steamy why-choose supernatural romance!
Lucy ends up on a mountain with a busted ankle. She's whisked away to a town straight out of a fairytale novel and evey male wants her.
What ensues is straight romance novel come to life!
Perfect for supernatural/monster romance lovers and those who love ‘why choose' romance.
I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!
This book is what happens when you combine romance and true crime. Sorry to quote Hannah Montana, but ‘you get the best of both worlds'!
Our heroine runs a true crime tour. While on tour a guest witnesses a crime scene. Now our heroine is launched into full investigation mode, trying to piece together the puzzle and solve the crime.
This story was interesting and kept me invested the whole time. This is perfect for true crime enthusiasts. Story seems well researched and put together. Audio narration was great and I loved the narrator
The way I DEVOURED this book! It's was chef's kiss perfection!
Romance? Check
Stalker vibes? Check check
Christmas time? Checkedy check!
Fireman? Check with flames!
Happy ending? CHECK!
This had a little bit of Everything and the whole story kept me intrigued and engaged from start to finish. The characters were great and I loved our hero and heroine. This is a book I'd honestly listen to again I loved it so much. It reminded me a bit of Lights Out combined with Caught Up.
This is my first book by this author. I am now going to search for other titles they have published. It's now added to my fave books I've read this year.
I recommend this book for fans of Lights Out, Caught Up, Haunting Adeline, and Butcher and Blackbird series.
Audio was PERFECTION with a Capital P! Narrators were great and gave real depth and emotion to the story.
I really wanted to love this book. I love Veronica Roth's writing. She has this way of sucking you to the storyline. I do love Slavic mythology (and mythology in general) and Baba Yaga. However, I was unable to get into this book the way I wanted.
I listened to the WHOLE story. I gave Ms Roth my undivided attention. The writing was great, which is what I expect from her writing. (That alone I give a 5.0) The descriptions and details were up to par and gave a clear storyline. I have nothing bad to say about the writing and storytelling. I think for me the subject and story as a whole just wasn't for me.
The audio production and the narrators were great for this book.
I do believe this will be someone's fave book. Someone else who loves lore and mythology will eat this book up like a tasty dessert.
I love enemies to lovers and this one definitely delivered!
The main chapters had great chemistry and banter. Story was interesting and flowed well. From start to finish there was never a lull which sometimes can happen half way through. This is the book where you root for the main chapters to be together even though everything is stacked against them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and will be looking out for the author's other books after this. It was well written and narrators for the audio were great.
A guy and girl....caught in a snow storm....
This book is reminiscent of some 90's romcoms. Marin and Teddy have the on and off relationship. The story spans numerous years of their life in a will they/wont they format. The first half took a bit to get going but the second half I enjoyed much more. I suppose there is a bit of a lesson too with the book on not letting a good thing pass you by and don't jump ship at the first sign of distress.
I did like the narrators however the audio in the beginning was a bit muffled or robotic sounding. It got better.
Overall, a cute quick read
I grabbed this because of its nostalgia to my childhood. It very much felt like I was reading another Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I do feel like it's geared towards middle school aged children although anyone of any age could probably get enjoyment out of the stories.
Thanks for bringing Nostalgia back!
Thank you for allowing me to review and go back to my childhood for just a moment.
A British cheerleader and a handsome quarterback...
Game on is a college romance set in Tennessee. Ella transfers to Whitland from Oxford to cheer on their cheer squad. There she meets the dashing Hudson Fox.
This story is cute and engaging. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and their story. I never felt a lull in the story. It kept me interested the whole the time. I have cheer history so I could almost envision the squad as they were doing their stunts.
Audiobook was good. Narrators were great. I sometimes have difficulty understanding a British narrator but that was not the case here. Dialogue was easy to follow along with. Audiobook listening time is approx 10hrs
Elle has had one heartbreak and catastrophe after another. Running here and there trying to figure out what she wants and never quite getting it right; what she does know is what she doesn't want.
This book is told through a sequence of past and present focusing on her life now and all the decisions and happenings in the past that led her there.
She's literally trying to sort her life out and find the stability she's yearned for.
This book is full of funny moments and some heartfelt and sad ones too. It's real and it can be raw if the reader has any personal history with the themes. What I liked about it, is that it's very real from a ‘broken' and anxiety-ridden standpoint.
Samantha escaped her past and her alcoholic mother to the big city, but returns for work only yo confront her past...
I really loved this book. It was filled with humor, heartwarming moments, and I loved the relationship between our main characters.
We go from angst to cuteness to swoony moments, and I found myself laughing and smiling through the book.
The story has a good message: you can go home again. It's okay to okay to make mistakes and start over. And yes, by god, you are good enough!
I loved the narrators for this story.
Thank you to Hachette and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book!
This book.... Wow! I just finished listening to the audiobook and I have tears falling down my face. This story is both tragic and beautiful in this symbiotic way. Just like the bees in the story with their beekeeper.
I can't stress enough how beautiful the story is. The author created a vivid and powerful storyline that is gripping, haunting, soul crushing, and then it mends and heals everything just as perfect as a bee constructing their honeycomb. It's breathtaking.
It's set in Tennessee in the 60's so there is a bit of history for anyone that is a fan of historical books.
Highly recommend this book for anyone that wants a sweet, clean, romance that's full of heart and a love for community, friends, and nature.
A teen witnesses the murder of her family and is wrongly accused of the crime, spending time in juvenile detention. Now years later she's on a mission to find out who actually did the crime.
A thrilling ‘whodunit' novel fit for any crime enthusiast. Story will keep you compelled and wanting to know who is behind the crime. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Audio is done graphic novel style with a narrator for every character and sounds effects. These audiobooks are my fave because they are immersive like you are listening to a movie.
Magical students at a school that could literally kill them! Horror and fantasy combined in a splendid way.
A group of magical students must work together to overcome the dark powers that roam their school and secrets unfold in this gripping story, that has you on the edge of your seat!
This story is fascinating and was interesting from start to finish! I loved all the different characters and getting to see their personalities.
I really enjoyed the narration style and the narrator as well.
CUTENESS OVERLOAD!
A sweet romance with southern charm and a bit of coastal influence. A hockey player and an elementary school nurse thrust upon each other. Then some sailing and a dog... you get a recipe for a cute and funny romance story.
This story was seriously so cute! I adored every minute of the main character's journey. Our heroines anxiety is relatable and gives a touch of ‘humanity' to the story.
Audio was great. Narrators were perfect. Andi Arndt is one of my fave female narrators.
This was my first Emma St Clair book, and it won't be my last
This one had everything! Sketchy neighbors, family secrets, cheating spouses, teen angst...and murder. Weird and strange things happening, turns into a full blown murder case with a whodunit twist! I was on the edge of my seat! Like seriously! WHOA!
The story is a bit confusing at first because it does jump POV's. But It didnt derail me from the storyline. After a bit, I liked getting the different POV's. It felt more well-rounded.
I would definitely read this author's other books. This one was intriguing and left me wanting more.
Thanks for the opportunity to review this book!
This book deserves more than 5 stars!
This book.....what can I say? Devastating, emotional, haunting, soul shattering, soul mending, beautifully written....I could go on and on.
I was so utterly happy to get to review this second installment of this series. It had my heart in stitches and then mended it in the best ways. I laughed, I ached, I squeed with delight, cheered, cried uncontrollably and felt every emotion the characters did. This book made me FEEL like no book has in a long long time. That's a testament to the author and the narrators for a wonderful job well done. I have a personal experience with some of the themes of this book. It has touched me and healed parts I didn't know needed mending. So thank you to Ms Scott.
I just finished it 5 minutes ago and I am still a sobbing mess. This is probably in my top 3 books I've read this year. I won't forget it anytime soon. And dare I say, I've collected a new book boyfriend
This is a cute cozy fantasy story. An abandoned island filled with greenhouses and a lonely gardener. I loved the entire storyline. I loved Terlu and Yarrow, along with the whole host of plant friends. This story had me grinning ear to ear. And dare I say that I loved this one even more than its predecessor. I really hope there is an another book in this series. These books make me want to curl up on my couch with a cup of tea and a cozy blanket and a dog.
I love the narrator of this series. She does the voices very well and she's easy to listen to even on 2.0 speed.
Ali, A rockstar's son, goes to University. There he learns secrets, and learns about an elite society.
Academia mixed with dark secrets and a bit of Alice in Wonderland. You'll go through the looking glass for sure!
Dark and Twisted, I was a bit confused at first, but as the book went on it became more intriguing. I never knew what would happen next.
Audiobook was clear. Narrator was wonderful
This story started slowly and then built. It had a different take on the Norse mythology and gods (ie Loki, Odin, Thor, etc). MFC was strong and we have the broody and arrogant hero (think Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries). The world building and ‘monsters' were intriguing and the storyline was interesting. And now let's talk about the ending. HOLY CLIFFHANGER! Now I will definitely tune in for the next book!
I think this book is perfect for those who love Norse mythology or any mythology in general. Also for fans of Percy Jackson.
A rockstar on a path to destruction and a chance meeting with her limo driver....
I would give this 6 stars if I could!
This story is one that absolutely surprised me in all the best ways. Kacey is a rockstar who is on a shaky path. Jonah is the limo driver. After a particular night takes Kacey in to his home: This evening changes everything. But Jonah is on a deadline and they are running out of time.
This story is beautiful and heartbreaking, but also filled with heartwarming and funny moments. I loved their relationship and their banter. This book is so wonderfully written. It had a way of drawing you in where you feel apart of the story and feel the emotions deep in your soul.
The narrators were great. Each one did a wonderful job narrating the characters. Audio quality was great.
Thank you so I NetGalley, RBmedia, and Emma Scott! Gah! I want to listen to this again!
This was a first from this author and I chose it based on the description and the witty title. When I began the story and she launched into her childhood years dealing with religious trauma, harmful teachings, and rituals, it all began to click and resonated with me in a way I didn't know it could. The author is from the south and grew up in Alabama as I did. She even praises our coveted James Spann (if you know, you know). But as the author detailed story after story, each one resonated with me in some way, I was literally in my head saying “same!”, ‘'me too!” And “no way! Same!”.
I loved the author's humor. I loved the way she presented these stories. I love the way she handled a very delicate subject for those who did go through some religious trauma. This was presented in a way that it made you feel seen and heard...plus a splash of humor (praise for Chucky doll Jesus everyone! Lol)
The audiobook was wonderful. I loved getting to hear the author narrate her own story. You could hear the emotion and humor in her voice which brought it to life.
Thank you to NetGalley, Ms Backstrom, and Hachette for allowing me to review this book. It has helped me in more ways than one.
Cute and cozy fantasy monster romance (with LGBTQ+ representation ) about a prince and an Ogre. Alaric seeks out the help of mage Eamon in order to get help for his brother. What ensues is some angst and cute moments. This story was delightful and charming. The characters were well-rounded. Their romance built at a good pace and wasn't too fast or too slow. You could feel their pining all the through the book! I loved the magical kingdom/village and story telling. It felt as if I were there with the characters themselves. My only complaint was that the ending was too abrupt: I needed more of our two main characters!
I listened to the audio version. The narrator was perfect for the characters.
Rich moms in NY plus chaos! Sign me up!
This rich girl gang in NY, welcomes a new mom into their fold. Chaos ensues and things go horribly wrong.
This book was full of funny quips, chaos, and shenanigans! I loved every minute!
Audiobook narrator was perfect and audio was clear. I encountered no issues.
I would definitely recommend this book to friends. This book is for fans of Sex and the City/And Just Like That with a hint of thriller on the side
