Mistborn: The Final Empire

I won't lie, I had tried starting Mistborn 2 other times in the past decade or so. Each time I couldn't make it past the first chapter. Something about "ash falling from the sky" seemed a little too... Cliche, I guess? Like, c'mon. A dark lord being connected with ash?

Yet I stand absolutely, undoubtably corrected! A very fun read with interesting and memorable characters (though I'm still having some trouble differing Ham and Clubs, for some odd reason. But I'm getting there with the second book!). Also, the worldbuilding, while simple, does wonders. I eventually got over the thoughts of cliches, as it plays with them well and doesn't feel too much of a copy and paste.

Already started on the second book, and very excited about it! Can't wait to get through this classic series.
