Aubrey and her sexy Australian stranger, Chance, embarked on an exciting adventure!
I adored both of their characters, as well as their unexpected relationship! Aubrey had so much more bravery than she gave herself credit for. She not only travelled across the country in search of a new beginning, but she also agreed to let a complete stranger into her automobile, which completely shook me out! On their crazy voyage, there were definitely sparks flying! Chance's quick wit and fun with Aubrey were hilarious. He pushed all of her boundaries and got her to move outside of her comfort zone and be herself. He appeared to be sincere and lovely, and she was rather feisty! Chance's determination, loyalty, and, romanticism too! I was pleased to witness Aubrey find her footing and enthusiasm on her own terms.
Then there was the goat, who had me laughing from the time he was introduced into the story!
I must admit that I did not anticipate the narrative evolving in the way that it did.. Not at all. The crescendo of emotion had completely burst, and then.. I was so annoyed by their circumstances, and they just appeared to be destined for each other! However, I usually appreciate a little yearning and angst, and I believe that's what made the narrative so good. It could have been easy for Aubrey and Chance, but their struggle kept me interested and guessing. Although the second part of the novel helped carry on for me, it also made the ending all the more satisfying!
