Don’t be fooled by the fact that Fake Out is the second book in the Warner University Bulldogs series – it can absolutely be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read the first one and I enjoyed every page without feeling lost for even a second. In fact, it intrigued me so much that now I want to go back and read the previous book too!
It’s the perfect mix: American college, football, fake dating, and lots of chemistry. But be careful, because this story goes beyond the cliché: Fake Out blends romance, personal growth, and real emotion.
🏈 Aidan is the perfect quarterback: handsome, popular, quick-witted… but also carrying a lot of hidden insecurities. He was adopted by a wonderful family, yet he still carries the scars left by his biological mother’s abandonment. Everything changes when Bailey, his best friend’s sister, asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend for six months. A crazy idea? Maybe. But also the spark that sets everything off.
🌸 Bailey grew up in a gilded cage, controlled by a mother who decided every tiny detail of her life. Now that she’s in college, she wants to change the tune: live, choose, make mistakes. And starting this “liberation” with a fake relationship with the most talked-about quarterback on campus seems like a good beginning. Spoiler: it is.
The chemistry between them is immediate and irresistible. At first it’s all just a game, but soon things get serious. Between pretense and reality, between laughter and meaningful glances, something deep is born — something built on trust, vulnerability, and the desire to start over.
What struck me the most is how alive the characters are. Bailey grows, finds the courage to face the people who always controlled her, and finally begins to live for herself. Aidan, behind all his charm, hides real wounds — and seeing him let his guard down is one of the most beautiful parts of the book.
💘 Fake Out is sweet, intense, sometimes funny, and always authentic. The sports aspect never overwhelms the story; it stays in the background, like a good soundtrack that accompanies a film. E. M. Moore’s writing is smooth, sparkling, and full of rhythm: the dialogue is lively, the emotions hit straight to the heart, and the romantic scenes truly melt you.
📣 If you love college romances with fake relationships that become anything but fake, adorable main characters, and a plot that balances lightness with depth… then this book is for you!
Top-grade approval. Complete with a touchdown and a kiss on the sidelines. 💋
Highly recommended!
