Is it just me or does this remind anyone else of the movie Ghost Ship? With less people being cut into pieces by wire and a good deal wetter? Hmm.

The first part of the story is based in 1977 with an expedition to find the Titanic, which they do and then things occur leaving just one survivor and lots of questions. Part 2 is set in 1993 when the Navy decide to go back to the Titanic and try and find gold they believe to be still in the cargo bay/hull of the ship (like government sanctioned pirates), taking along the survivor of the 1977 debacle.

Spooky shenanigans, lots of characters introduced and lots of water everywhere, this book was a fun read for me and makes me want to confiscate my nephews Titanic book to have a damn good read of it.

It's a little hokey in parts but overall it's a good story and I really did enjoy it.

3.5 stars

Told from 2 perspectives, Alice, who's just moved into the house to do it up and try and cope with the grief over her daughters death, and Mary Carson, the woman who lived in the house when it was owned by Arodius Thorne.

Science, history and some magic blend together, along with some spooky and violent stuff, to create a fun-filled read.

It's a slow build that ramps up when Alice starts finding put more history of the house and what happened in it.

Some of it was a little ‘huh?' and the end felt slightly rushed but it wasn't overly distracting from the rest of the book.

Creepy children are really creepy in this. Really.

A pink armadillo called Princess and a barn filled with books, I need to say that because it is EPIC! The minute I read that I knew that this was a series that I was going to fall in love with and I have!

When Charli goes back to her hometown of Hazel Rock, Texas, she thought it was a quick in and out job for her, she might see her dad but that wasn't her main objective, she was going to see the real estate lady who was going to end her connection to the town and everything in it. Things didn't happen the way she expected them to when she finds a dead body. Cue an unexpected meet up with the man who broke her heart and the town she thought had kicked her out.

A good start to a series that involves the aforementioned pink armadillo and the huge red barn filled with books plus a MC who is strong and opinionated and who takes no shit from anyone when it comes to what she wants. This is a series I can definitely get behind and will promote the hell out of.

I remember watching The Exorcist when I was about 16-17 years old and not really finding it terrifying at all, I put that down to desensitization as I had already been watching horror films for years and they never really bothered me. My mum, however, went to see it when it was first released and it scared the s*t out of her, she says she only watched up until the piano scene and then spent the rest of the film with her head against my dad so she wouldn't see it, she did hear it and I think that's sometimes bad enough. When I saw this book I knew I had to read it, I was intrigued about the real story behind The Exorcist and wanted to see if the William Peter Blatty version was being truthful with the facts. Not gonna give too much, if anything, away about this as I think, if you're that interested in the truth and myth behind the exorcism that you will pick this book up regardless and won't, really, listen to what I think.I did get into a conversation with my mum after I'd read this but she still refuses to watch the film again. Mothers!.Going to leave you with this quote from the author Steven A. LaChance;“I cannot and will not tell you what you should believe. My place is to share ideas and theories for you to consider, and if somewhere within that self reflection you figure out what you actually believe, then I have done my job properly”Wouldn't it be better if that's what everyone thought!?Huge thanks to Steven A. I suffer from depression and anxiety so anything that's going to help me I'm gonna wanna read! There are good ideas and tasks in this book that can help us all, not massive life changing things but little things, and little things mean a lot.

There's things from painting to buying yourself a gift, to writing a journal and making your bed in the morning, little things, something to bring a little joy to your life that may seem a little ‘simple' to everyone else but means the world to us.

It's given me a little bit of hope that I can get through this, we all need a little help every now and again and this is a creative way to cope with how you are feeling.

I will definitely be keeping this on my kindle to refer back to as it's a good tool to open yourself up to different ideas.

I have just read the sampler of this and I cannot wait to read the entire thing!

Helena, the daughter of the Marsh King, the man who kidnapped and raped her mother and then kept them captive until she was 12, has begun to live her life with a husband and 2 children, making jams and jellies for the local stores and enjoying her family, when she hears a police bulletin saying that he's escaped, she put him in prison and now she will have to prepare herself for what is to come.

Does she have the strength to protect herself and her family? I am on the edge of my seat to find out!!

Not read the entire book, I was fortunate to receive a sampler of this and I have to say that I flippin' loved it!!

The prologue is gripping and surprisingly violent, you're not really sure what to think about DS William Fawkes and you're left with a ‘OMG' feeling.

It gets so much better as you get into the chapters, there is more violence and you get to meet the main players in the case get pulled so very quickly into the story.

My favourite part so far though has to be the humour, it's mixed so well in with the violence and the stress and uncertainty of the team that it brings a lightness to help balance it all out.

I am so looking forward to reading the rest of this, I really need to see what happens and will be waiting with patience and some stress until i manage to get the full book into my hands!!

Gorgeous illustrations bring the story to life with this adapted version of Pride and Prejudice.

I love these editions and will continue to grab them when I can. Awesome.

What can I say about this? It's a classic novel done with manga illustrations and it is just as awesome as it sounds!!

The illustrations are beautiful and the story is a slightly shortened version, all main points are in there and the non-needed are removed. Doesn't take anything away from the story and reads very well.

This book is the first in the Inspector McLean series, I chose to read it as it's a police procedural and it's a little different to others I've read before.

I read some reviews for this before I picked it up and noticed some reviewers talking about the beginning of the book being quite graphic and not very nice, I didn't know what they were talking about as the copy I have starts like a police procedural, cut to the end of the book and there's a note from the author about how this started as a short story and grew into this finished copy, you then read the short story which is supposed to be the very beginning and it clicks as to why people found it graphic and disturbing. It does help the story knowing the information and the flow of it too.

Really enjoyed this and my, now, ever present notebook was put to good use as I was trying to work out the players and making random jottings while I was pulling it all together and trying to get it straight in my head.

Love the MC Anthony McLean and the team he has around him, except DCI Charles Duguid, he's a dick. There's humour along with the graphic violence and that helps to alleviate some of the tension in the story but it also shows how people cope when put into these situations.

Thoroughly enjoyed this and will be writing the review for the second book in a few minutes, there are currently 7 books in this series and I have them all queued up on my kindle to read. Yay!!

While reading this I took 16 pages of notes, 16!! 95% of it is spoilery and the other 5% seems to be the application pack questions because my brain decided I needed to have the entire list of questions. I still don't know why.

Set Then and Now we follow both Emma (then) and Laura (now), both of them have suffered recent horrible situations and believe that living in this house will be a cathartic experience, this house, of course, being One Folgate Street, the brain-child of Edward Monkford who has final approval on who should live in the house.

Now however much I enjoyed this and the mystery aspect I have to say that I was not a fan of Emma, as you read it you will see why I started to dislike her and I was not a fan of Edward either. Laura was more of a sympathetic character and I got behind her and enjoyed her part in it.

There are secrets, lots of lying liars and some sexy times (which helped move the story along and gave some insight into the minds of the main players).

So all in all a solid 4 star book, I had rated it a 5 but changed it when writing this as i'd read through my notes again and felt it deserved a slightly lower rating.

I LOVE this series!! I don't know what else there is to say about it other than I love it!!

I've followed Tracy Crosswhite since ‘Her Sisters Grave' and I have seen her grow not only in her personal life but in her professional life too, she pushes boundaries when she thinks it will open up the investigation or when she can rattle the suspect, sometimes it works and sometimes she's in the sights of ‘management' and the people who don't understand how she does her job. I still love her though, I still wait until her next book arrives and I can say ‘she may be crazy but she gets the job done'

Hmmm not sure what to think about this one. I know now that it's the 6th in a series and it's something I didn't know before

It's not a bad series, it's quite an interesting and engaging book yet I know that there is more information in the previous books that would flesh out the series for me and maybe engage me more in what's happening.

Caprice DeLuca is staging the house of the recently deceased Leonna Wyatt for her friend Wendy, Leonna left the house to Sunshine Tomorrow, a group who helps women suffering from domestic violence, her friend Wendy is subsequently killed and Caprice wants to find out what the hell is going on.

Sex, lies, sneaky sneakiness is abundant in this story. Who's telling the truth and who's a little fucker!?

Abigail MacKenzie is a beefarmer who, in a former life, used to be a police officer, she's now investigating the death of her friend Fiona, who burned to death in her car, was it suicide or murder!?

It's obviously murder and Abi will not stop until she finds out what exactly happened to her friend. Cue horrible, sneaky people who only care about themselves and a town who are suspicious of any outsiders and it builds up to more sneaky and violent goings on!

I LOVE this series! I have read every single one of the books in this series and will continue to do so as it is so very, very good!

If you love a good crime/procedural book then this series is for you! DCI Sophie Allen is a strong, funny and family oriented character, she communicates well with her team and works hard to bring each and every criminal to justice no matter what hurdles are thrown in her way. It's an action packed and enjoyable ride!

She's only 16!? She seems sooooo much younger than that! Despite that though I really enjoyed this, I love a mystery and anything that's crime or ‘police' influenced.

The illustrations are wonderful and the story is both slightly mysterious and fun, which is all I ask for in anything to be completely honest. I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next Goldie Vance installment.

I do love Jessica Daniel! I've been kinda marathoning the books I can read as I have the 11th book in the series and REALLY want to know what happens in each book.

Each moment is carefully planned, each interaction means something, anything you read slowly builds to the end, you carry on reading because you want to know what happens and wont be satisfied until the end is reached and you have the closure you need but somethings are always left until the next book and you HAVE to read more to find out what happens.

Huge thanks to Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own

I am really loving this series!! Each book is better than the last, the characters are well rounded and you want them to succeed, I still the humour, sarcasm and banter between Jessica and her team and I love how they all trust each other and look out for one another.

There are some characters in this who you just want to punch but I think that happens in most books.

I could write more about this but I think you should just read them plus I have to get to the 4th book in the series which is calling me from my kindle!!

Book 2 in the Jessica Daniel series and it's just as good as the first one!

The humour and sarcasm is still here and the relationships between the characters is getting stronger and flows easier, the violence is there to move the story along and not just put in because he wants to, there's a method to the madness and as you pick up clues and hints you begin to see the forest rather than just the trees.

Really enjoyed it and I'm now on to book 3 in the series. Oohh, i'm excited!!

Huge thanks to Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own

Yet another series that I've seen people read and review yet never picked up, I decided that needed to change so chose this one to start with, seeing as though it's the first one in the series it's obviously the best place to start!

First of all the humour and sarcasm are right up my alley and made me smile many times as I was reading it, I love the main characters, they work so well together and have a great relationship, the dispersal of clues and hints throughout is well done and it all flows well.

I did work out what was happening and who the killer was quite early on but it didn't take away of my enjoyment of the book.

Now onto book #2!

Huge thanks to Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own

I can say, hand on heart, that i pretty much hated every single character in this book, they're all selfish, horrible, vicious, unreliable and despicible people and I could not put it down!!

Shouting at the characters became my whole thing for the day I read this, dog wondered what was going on and came over to me for cuddles when she could see I was getting worked up, she thinks I'm insane and maybe I am but that's because of THIS book right here!!

It ended kind of how I thought it would but with a couple of extra surprises thrown in just to wind me up even more! As you can tell it's still doing it now even though I read it 5 days ago.

Read it, it's so good and I want to know if it makes you feel how I feel. It's like watching a car crash, you know you should look away but you just can't!!

I will be putting Louise Stone on the list of ‘gotta read' authors that I keep filed in my head, I may end up writing it down soon but who knows!?

Huge thanks to Louise Stone, HQ Digital and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all the opinions are my own

Another author I've not read before and a new crime procedural series I will continue to read.

Maybe I need to mix up what I read so I'm not continually thinking that I could be a DS in the police force and even if I was I'd probably be the one doing all the paper work and filing because I think that's my jam.

DS Eden Berrisford is a really good character and one I can see myself following as the series continues, to watch her grow to become a better detective, to see her interactions with her fellow police officers and her family and to learn more about her.

Well paced story that both shocks and saddens while making you angry and hoping for redemption.

I will be looking for the next one in the series to see where things go from here. Highly recommended.

I've seen other books by Caroline Mitchell but never picked one up and read it, I do prefer to read a series in order which maybe why I haven't gotten around to any of her others yet. I now know I need to read them as I thoroughly enjoyed this one and will be continuing on with Ruby and her team.

Not so patiently waiting for the next book in the series.

Huge thanks to Caroline Mitchell, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own

Oohh this is a tricksy little book! Things look like they're going one way and then they go another, you think you've worked one bit out and then something happens to blow your theory out of the water, see, tricksy!

It's a good read, the suspense and paranoia build up slowly, Robyn is a great character who's a little damaged and trying to work through heartbreak while still doing her job, her cousin Ross is her support and they make a great team, along with the police team she has around her.

I really need a 2nd book now and will patiently wait until it comes.

Huge thanks to Carol Wyer, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy which I chose to read and all opinions are my own

Book #2 in the Dr Hannah Nightingale series and it's just as good as the first, this one deals with the murders of 3 different men over 3 consecutive sundays and if, and how, they're connected.

Throw in ‘The Ring' a paedophile network involving a number of childrens homes in the area that had been operating for about 5 years before someone turned whistle blower. Some senior members of the social services and a high ranking police officer were involved and this become more than it seems.

More information comes to light which implicates The Ring in more than it seems and Dr Hannah and the team have to figure out that puzzle plus who is killing people.

More backstory of the characters here and the steady pace towards the conclusion.
