Its been a long overdue read and i heard so much negative about this one. So much hate and frustration and im over here like yes time turners are a meh thing in the potter world but wow was the character arcing for albus soo incredibly good. And delphi and rose i just loved each of these characters. I am giving it 4/5⭐️ because i couldnt stop reading and i was rooting for albus and harry and ginny and everyone throughout.
I went into this one knowing nothing but loving the beautiful cover this book has. But I am a super fan now of Alix E Harrow. WOW she is an incredible storyteller, the three main sisters and the arcs for each ****** 6+ stars in my opinion. Loved that it had a suffrage piece, loved everything about this book the rhythms between chapters etc. So incredibly good and wish I had read this sooner but so glad I will have the opportunity to reread this in the future.
WOW! How is this a debut cause this was SOOOOOO good! Holy moly what a ride this book was but I was hooked and it was soooo amazing. The characters, the direction of the story highlighting and backstories, the suspense and the creepiness overall lol. I normally am not a fan of movies like SAW but this was like it but done in a really cool way. Never read anything like this but absolutely recommend this. if I could give this 10 stars I would. If you are looking for something different pick this up next!
I feel like this book reminded me of that book "The Need" constantly talking about breastfeeding and just overall the early days of motherhood which hey I get it but i don't need the detailed descriptions of it. The suspense leading to that end was wth are you serious. I was bored 80% of the book. kudos on the suspense, eww on the graphic details and 1.5 for the overall of the book glad I got this through the library
So my daughter got this book from the library and I secretly took it out of her room each night and read it myself after i read it to her of course lol. This was so good I am definitely continuing this series. I know this is considered middle grade/juvenile but I loved amari and agent fiona and the way bb alston moved the story through. looking forward to the next two in this series.
okay this was so much different than the movie adaptation i have seen in the past and yet another instance for me that the book is far better than the movie. I love how it read like a true crime documentary or an unsolved mysteries type episode. I am normally not a fan of no chapter books but the formatting worked well and kept me still going. Definitely would want to reread this when i read in publication order next time.
Couldnt do this one. Got about 58 pages in and dnf’d just reminded me too much of a little life. About puked with the grooming parts too. Just wish i had trigger warnings would have never picked it up had i known. Not sure how this is on the long list for booker prize 2025. Cant give this a star rating because of not finishing.
Okay so hear me out...This is my first CLASSIC STEPHEN KING read and what a bad choice this was rofl. I was bawling my eyes out and utterly mortified but could not stop flipping the pages of this one and I made the mistake of doing a combo of reading and listening on audiobook. Having children didn't help matters with this one but damn did king bring on so much descriptive detail that I wanted to be sick to my stomach and cry at the same time....regardless I read it but i would have to be way later down the line to reread this one in the future x.x
So I spoiled this book for myself since I have seen the Studio Ghibli version of this and I fell in love with this animated movie but this book. I just loved it so much and can't wait to continue the series with this one. I don't physically own this at the time of writing this review but I am now looking to purchase it so I can reread in the future. I think my kids would love this one.
So I haven't read the return yet but this one was my first experience with Rachel Harrison and I am hooked. I want to get all the books and absorb her writing and story telling further :). So good loved sophie and wished there was more cursing etc but it was good and will be doing a reread soon. perfect for my Summerween readathon.
