This series is one of my favorites. Usually I'm not that into why-choose, but this series made me think "oh, that's why why-choose is so popular!"

This is a fantastic steamy series and I am surprised I haven't seen it mentioned in the spicy book groups before. It's well-written and the romance tropes are actually done well. The plot is pretty good and so are the characters.

Audiobook was great. Story was better than expected with several surprises. Lots of steam!

Narration was great. It got a little boring about 3/4 through. It's not actually dark romance...

The first book is great, but the second book is even better! I can't wait for the 3rd!

Cute small town romance with good writing, plot, characters, and GREAT narration. Kind of like a surprisingly good Hallmark movie that you would definitely watch the sequel to. It was worth an audible credit!

Kind of a weird mix of urban paranormal and fantasy. It seems like the food items, urban style, clothing is contemporary except there are castles, no electricity or cars. Has very good steam and spice, and great narration. I haven't listened to book 2 yet but...there better be a really good grovel!

I have binged this entire series. Each book I fall more in love with the main characters, Carlotta and her much younger brother Wesley. The pacing is perfect for all of the plots. Each book has its own mystery; and there's the ongoing plot of their own family's drama - Wesley's addiction to gambling and horrible luck with money; Carlotta's struggles with high society; and both of their attempts to find their parents who have been in hiding for the last 10 years after being charged with investment fraud. And, of course, there's the romance: with a grumpy detective, her ex fiancé, and an artsy ex-coroner!

I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out! It's a really interesting story.

The complete series is out on audiobook and on Hoopla, but only the 1st is out in the dramatized version. Very steamy.
