I would have given this 4 stars except for the fact that it wasn't intense enough. The hero is such a normal guy, nothing special except for the fact that he knows what he wants. The heroine is from America and doesn't like British lords. But at the end she loves him anyway.
The interesting fact is that the hero is a virgin. There are less stories of Virgin hero's and this is my first :D . Love, Villain, Fight, Jealousy, Murder, Rape.. it has all the factor except for the fact that it wasn't intense enough.
Hopefully the second book will be better.
Why do I feel that I have read something like this before. The exact same dialogue especially when he is meeting an investor. The settings I remember is a old wealthy aunt inviting relatives to compete.
The first time I heard about this author is from a friend of mine and I also watched his lecture in TED about Mythology and he impressed me a lot. So I decided to get couple of books by this author. The reason I got this book is to know our Gods. I wanted answers so that I could tell my non-hindu friends about our Gods. And this book pretty much tells you all about Vishnu. I did find it a little bit too philosophical but I loved the pictures with the meaning for each of them. Some of the stuffs went over my head but all I wanted was the basic knowledge of Vishnu and it pretty much tells you about it. Each chapter talks about his avatar and why he was born. All I remember from childhood is the basic stories but this book showed me Why it is like that. Thought it took me nearly 6 days to finish this, I loved this book.
Wow. A brilliant ending to this trilogy. But it was a little bit too long and that might be because of the explanation of some customs in hindu culture. I liked that shiva is portrayed as a man and had some tragedies in his life. Overall i do like it. Maybe it should have a happy ending then my “happily ever after” mind would have given 5 stars.
