I can't wait to read the next one!

I loved, loved, loved the first book in this trilogy (The Golden Compass), and was so excited to read the next two. I have to say I am a little disappointed. The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass are still worthwhile, but the dialogue was often trite, and I felt like the story went in too many directions.

So many things to contemplate in this book. I really enjoyed it.

I learned a lot reading this book. I really wondered about other countries who have legacies of slavery as well - she didn't touch on them and I would like to know if they fit into this theory as well.

This was a very odd book. The idea behind the conspiracy is intriguing, but there were too many holes in the story, and the main character was just terribly unlikable.
