this book kept my interest with some humorous and ridiculous moments. I kind of liked that Greta became increasingly insufferable.The ending, however, did feel like it wrapped up strangely and with a fizzle.

The first 75% of this book flew by because I couldn’t put it down. When we approach the climax, however, things become a bit complex and incorporate a lot of elements. Overall was refreshing and I enjoyed it.

this book was horny and wild! I enjoyed it because The Thing is one of my absolute favorites.

I’m glad I finished this book because it went in a completely different direction than I thought.

This book is not what I expected, and there were some interesting plot twists.

You could argue that King is at his best when he shows the horrors of humanity.

This book required perseverance. The first 2/3 was confusing to me and had multiple typos. The After parts of the book left me asking why and “what is even happening?” It started getting interesting when you truly discovered the “twist” and those moments when he talks to Michael. What a strange book…

I heard many great things about this book, and I must admit, I absolutely love the concept! I listen to the audiobook(specifically the “dramatic reading”) and enjoyed the sound effects and different voiced characters. Unfortunately, the story fell flat for me. Murderbot was just a little too dry.

This book had an elegant way of exploring everything from food, emotions, and slaughter. My favorite part was her description of her relationships with Alex. At times, the sections that went away from the plot were unecessary and overly pedantic. I liked that the story explored a female serial killer’s perspective, with sexuality and vulgar commentary.

This story had a charm to it. The historical context worked very well for this story. I largely enjoyed it, specifically the cosmic horror parts. The creatures, Dr. Bisset, and the Aunties. There were some parts that dragged on for me, which was typically combat segments.

This book is beautifully written and there were enough twists and turns to keep me on the edge of my seat at times. I’m not the biggest fan of fantasy, but this was an excellent read.

This one wasn’t for me. It was not scary, but more of a mystery. The stuff with Viv was more intriguing, but I couldn’t get passed the cliches from Carly.

I listened to the audio book so that I could hear the voice! It took me a while to finish this one because I really wanted to be able to give it my full attention so I can appreciate the humor. It’s ridiculous and incredibly British. I loved it.

I enjoyed this book, but I expected it to be scarier. There was disturbing imagery and suspense for what would happen next.

I enjoyed the way the author would jump between different story lines and characters in order to tell a larger narrative. There were multiple creepy moments that kept me on my toes, while also including the humanity of the relationship between the Eli and Oscar.

This was a page turner, and I mostly enjoyed it. The ending, though, was a little irritating. One of my least favorite tropes is “it was all in their head”. Also, the way it was finally revealed was quite confusing. I liked the first 80% of the book.

I had initially started this book, and only got around 50% through it before stopping. I picked it back up as part of a book club, and I felt decently satisfied by the end. The short story at the beginning was scary and I felt this same sensation toward the end of the book. I became bored at times when the entity would disturb them after returning home. I preferred the moments at the cabin. The “twist” of the deceased brother kind of came out of nowhere for me, and wasn’t my favorite. I am happy, though, that I returned to this book.

This queer novel had a Southern horror theme. I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this book! As the many twists were being revealed, I couldn’t put it down! There were times when the story dragged on a bit, but it would quickly pick back up. The most horrifying parts were when Jane was alone in the house.

I love an ambiguous ending to anything, so I definitely enjoyed this book’s conclusion!

Really enjoyed this book. The authors writing crafted a world that was immersive and scary. I’m a big fan of southern horror, and this is a perfect example.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a nice balance of wholesome content and disturbing imagery. The historical setting was unique, and added to the interesting plot. Highly recommend!

This book is a scary twist on demonic entities with a heartfelt story about queer youth in the evangelist United States. While the ending wraps up fairly quickly, I enjoyed the journey of suspense when the main characters were realizing that they were possessed.
