Was very excited about this book when I 1st found out about it. However, reading it it felt somewhat slow. I had parts that were really interesting & the pages flew by & then I other parts that were agonizing to read. Still love the concept regarding the battle/competition & powers but the way it was written could've been done better. I cannot stand Isla (FL/ main character) during many parts of the book.

I don't like love V's because i find them annoying. That is what this book is about & it was surprising to have it focus so much on romance when they are supposed to be preparing for battle.
Isla, once again, annoyed me. I think she annoyed me more in this book than the 1st. She just kept ignoring advise/warnings because she wanted to & or was goaded into it. Overall not a fan of her still.
Ending was not horrible but those last couple sentences were not it for me for the ending. Kinda abrupt way to end the book. Poor characters were just left there.
The... interesting/unique/unusual choice of words used for the more mature parts of the book had me dying of laughter.
In all honestly, I love Enya's character more than Isla. I'm 45/55 for continuing the series, but my friend really wants me to continue so we can talk about it (no, they don't like the main character either, but they want to just get to the end since we are 2 books in).
Good. Little confused about the half-breed stuff & their place. Above humans? Below?
Romance had good pace. Time skipped, but growth was described for some of it. Didn't feel like it was just jumping head 1st into romance outta nowhere.
Wanna know what happened to Z & rest of slaves in the camp.
Inorganic earth & water powers are feared but the B's are okay with having organic earth powers is a problem? Glad they are seeing how weird that is.
Confused about the bond thing (1st fae book I've read). Her real mate is someone else, but she bonded with Rion somehow?
Curious about the tall ass forest creatures. They sound like puppies.
Will be reading next book.

Romance was kinda ehhh. I like the main 2 well enough, but kinda got where they were out of no where. Would've liked there to be more focus on their growth together & individually.
Would like to learn more about the rest of the crew.
I also wanna know how he knew about her parents.
Sorta confused on how they managed to train in the basement & how they were able to sneak her in & out every day without being caught by any cameras. Would benefit from describing Braderhelm prison layout a bit more.
Has some twists towards the end (some parts are & some parts aren't 100% predictable).
Book is similar to other dystopia books that used to be popular many years ago. So if that's your kinda thing, you can try this one out. Nothing fully stands out to me, but I will be reading the next book if that counts for anything.
