I very much enjoyed this book. I had previously finished reading the Ender's Game series and was growing a little tired by the end of it. This book gave me a fresh look on the original story that drew me into the series. I think if you've read Ender's Game and enjoyed it then this is a good book to follow it.
Absolutely loved this book. An easy and quick read with characters that I fell in love with, I couldn't stop reading it. I knew I was picking up a love story but didn't realize it would include magic and mystery and was presently surprised when I found out. I would gush about this book to anyone and am excited to read the next in the series.
I enjoyed this book but I felt the character chemistry was more blunt than in the Starlight series she writes.
I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the first novel but this second one was even better. It kept me so engaged and emotionally involved with all the characters. So many times I think “omg Voya, get over yourself” and then “come on everyone, give poor Voya a break” and “yeah Voya!! You go!!” You know, like a regular friendship, all the ups and downs but always with the underlying care about her. Highly recommend this book, and really hope there will be a third one.
Still enjoying this series. No matter what, the stories and adventures are fun and I can't stop reading them.
I don't remember every laughing out loud while reading a book as much as I did with this series. It was very well done and with characters I could relate to. An added bonus was that I recognized all the settings
I found this an easy read and very much enjoyed Amy Jones' writing. The characters were relatable and, although they could have some annoying features sometimes, I still found them all likeable. Kind of recognizing that nothing is truly black and white in life.
I decided to read one of Danielle Steel's novels since she had written so many and I discovered that this book was not my thing. It's fine but leaves me with no need to read another.
It wasn't really my type of book but I can appreciate that it was very good at making me feel I was taking a look at the lives of real individuals. I don't like how it ends, I'm left kind of feeling “oh, that's it?” however it does suit the rest of the book. Some of the characters are likeable and others not at all, but all come across as someone who you could be passing on the street every day.
It's interesting but not my favourite fairytale. I like the imagination that was put into the adventurs Alice had but I think it was too all over the place for me to fully enjoy. I would still recommend it because if you like the bizarre then you'll enjoy it.
Each of the books in this series got better than the last, so this one is my favourite of the three. The plot and friendships.and romance each had its own intrigue for me that I wanted to learn more, individually. Even when the romance got interrupted by action I was easily distracted and thought “oh my gosh! What's going to happen?”
Wow did I ever like this book. There is some really good smut in here that is incredibly well tied into the story. I'm a fan of murder mysteries but usually the love affairs end up being clunkily thrown in and not well intertwined with what's going on with the rest of the story. Here, the two are so well intertwined that one doesn't take away from the other. Also, it's very heat worthy, I've never had a book make me feel ready for some action before, hahaha. The mystery itself is very good and I felt it kept me guessing. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
It was in interesting read. I enjoyed it and liked how it showed a different kind of lifestyle. The flow of the writing was enjoyable and I found all the characters relatable. I don't know if I'd actively recommend this book but if someone said they were reading it I would let them know I enjoyed it.
