This was not for me. I have heard so many good things about this book but I was kind of disappointed. It read very traditional cringe YA- more than I could handle. The over-explanation of Shannon being this tiny little girl that can't fend for herself was a little hard for me to understand. Johnny was kind of creepy. I got halfway through and couldn't bear to keep going- and I couldn't renew the book because it's on hold for other people at the library. The banter at some points was funny and the Irish glossary was very helpful. Not something I want to continue reading unfortunately :(

What a fantastic read this was! So eye-opening and honestly taught me so much. I loved the way it was written, like we were listening in on a podcast episode between Dr. Perry and Oprah, that made it so much easier to enjoy. This book went into the deep and dark places no one wants to think about, and it brought me to tears more than once. But the resolve that I feel knowing everything now after reading it is wonderful. I truly believe this book will help bring me closer to some people around me that I know were impacted by some of the things that were talked about in this book. This should be a book that everyone reads at least once in their lifetime :)

Great book! I loved how the author incorporated an action story for kids that includes real information about the trials that axolotls face. This was very entertaining.

Should've been called, "The secret history of the family that created Wonder Woman". Very interesting book, nonetheless. It was informative and interesting, but a little hard to follow sometimes. I am glad I read it, because it definitely entertained me. It was alright!
