This was pretty good! I was under the notion it was a lot longer than it actually was, so that disappointed me because I feel like the book didn't really go anywhere. Maybe it was because I listened to it on audiobook? There not being a distinct order of events made it a little hard to follow, but it was very interesting nonetheless. I enjoyed the information and was definitely entertained reading it. Interesting stuff!
Damn, I'm crying. This was really good! Such an epic story when I can step back and think about everything that happened in it. Andy Weir definitely has a way with storytelling. One thing I really had to get over was his writing style of solving every little conflict with a bad pun- that caused me to roll my eyes quite often and had me on a rocky (lol) start with this book. I wish it didn't take me so long to read it, but I really did enjoy it by the end. It was definitely hard-science fiction (in my humble opinion) and that takes me a lot of brain power lol. But again, it was worth it :)
This was pretty good- definitely more geared for people that are not familiar with libraries and their purpose. I felt that the writing at times was often very repetitive and boring after a while- but maybe that's because I have worked in a library for the past 3 years and am very aware of the challenges that they may face. This was a very important book- books about book banning and censorship always are- but I felt like I had been beaten over the head by the end of it. Overall, I would have liked if it was shorter and more concise, but it was worth reading!
A cute novella :) Has the usual Hazelwood wit and was a very quick read. I honestly love how she has been branching out, and I think this gaming world is one she should try out again! I would love to see this story in a full-length novel or even a series. I feel like there was more to be said, so I hope this continues in the future.
This was a struggle to get through :( A very interesting story indeed- the FBI working with a master-class criminal to create a sting operation to figure out the encrypted messages between various drug lords and criminals around the whole world. It was cool to learn about! The thing that was not cool was how boring this book was written. Maybe it's just not my type of story, but I found myself rolling my eyes as the same information was given over and over again to really drive the point home. I understand trying to make the audience understand that what happened was a crazy and monumental experience, but I felt the repetition was more harmful than helpful. Wouldn't read again.
meh. it was a dark romance book- but it wasn't DARK dark. by that i mean the mmc was not morally grey or inherently a bad guy. just misunderstood (lol). this book was okay, josh and aly just didn't get a lot of depth to their relationship before they were already in love with each other (yes i understand that they both stalked each other before officially meeting). their relationship just felt a little rushed to me, in my opinion. also, due to book-tok being so popular, i could definitely tell it was written in the past 5 years because of the cringe writing at times. luckily, this one wasn't so bad and i could just pretend like i didn't read, "the couple that slays together, stays together". overall, this book was mid! i had low expectations, but i was pleasantly fine with the way it ended and the story turned out. wouldn't read again- but it wasn't too bad!
What a journey. This book took me an exceptionally long amount of time because I annotated and sought to understand every word. Language from 1942 is a lot different from today, and because of this a lot of it was hard to understand. But it was worth it. This book made me uncomfortable knowing that a lot of the things mentioned could apply directly to me, that they are currently being applied to those around me, and I now know that I will always have this book in the back of my mind. I don't typically read satire, but C.S. Lewis did a great job with this one. Both terrifying and funny, deep and meaningful, this book is one that has completely changed my outlook on life. Read it!!

really good! the writing language was very different but i enjoyed the storyline and the heroine. i liked how agnes was not a hardened warrior that could fight off magicians- she's just a simple cat shelter owner that has a big heart! very slow burn, but a cute romance side to the story. i was upset by His Majesty's departure, i think it was unfair that Valerie got him in the end :( he was my fave! other than that, it was a super cozy read perfect for the weather lately. i loved all the cats and the setting/timeline. fun read!
Very interesting. I have only ever heard Andy Warhol's name but never knew the extent of the impacts his life made. This book was raw and real, and spellbinding in a disturbing way. Though my parents weren't even born in the timeline of events in this book, I felt like I had lived during the times described in the book. I strongly recommend!
Sobbing. This book was extremely hard to read at times because reading about teenagers with addictions makes me a lil sensitive. I have tried to read Girl in Pieces before, but it was too heavy for me. I almost did the same with The Glass Girl, but I am glad I stuck through it because it was worth it. No addiction gets erased after going to rehab like magic, and not everyone gets over their addictions like they do in the movies or other books. I feel like this one was real. Bella's story was something that actually had some substance (ha) to it and not a happy- but a hopeful and empowering ending. I am really glad I read this book and it was beautiful <3
i think a lot of the information on here DEFINITELY went over my head. very interesting, though. a lot of the things taught in here were hard for me to grasp because i am not an evolutionist and do not have a background in science at all- but i was interested in the ideals nonetheless. maybe one day i'll be able to understand this book- probably after a couple reads! glad i read it.
definitely a lot different from what i typically read, so that was a challenge to get over. nonetheless, i really enjoyed this book! it was very cozy and fit the vibes of the season i'm in right now. the characters were lovable and the writing style kept me interested. i really wish there could've been more to the story that would continue on, but it was also kind of beautiful how it was short and sweet. really enjoyed this!

:( cover is absolutely stunning !!!! thatâs the only reason why i wanted to read (and purchased) this book . unfortunately, i feel it fell short (as many other reviews feel the same). in my opinion, the âfantasyâ element of romantasy was extremely lacking. little to no world building. the love + passion + smut was âŚ. mildly disappointing :( i just feel like they didnât work as well together as they could . but most of all- character building. this bothered me the most. Dom being offed when we had no chance to get to know her ? how are we (as readers) supposed to grieve this loss if she was hardly given any background or page time ? there were too many characters (in my opinion) that were mentioned but not given identities. probably wonât read the next proceeding novels in this series :/
Currently sobbing. This book was so wonderful and bright. I loved Henry's writing style and easily fell in love with the characters she created. While the book felt a little slow at times, I am so glad I continued to the end. Really a meaningful story that has so many great teachings in it. Worth the read for sure!
