Not really surprising but tied most things up nicely.

  • Predictable conflict that somehow extended the whole book while not maintaining tension. We heard about the issues and then forgot and later remembered again just in time for the conclusion of them.
  • We had some sweet moments and some funny ones but we also had a lot of smut at weird moments being justified by instinct, hormones or the like.
  • Verity had some growth from the last book but nothing too intense, mostly her arc was just getting together with the guys on a more permanent basis.
  • The guys,
    • Grif still has some of the spotlight in this, mostly because part of the problems come from his secret, the worry of how people are gonna take it, the actual coming out and all the anxieties associated with it.
    • Dean is still not very present, he's not the source of issues or strife and just overall seemed to have a sunny disposition.
    • Jonas still takes care of everybody and tries to keep peace and order in the relationships, this still while getting together with Verity and sharing everyone's time.
    • AJ, for the majority of this book he seems to have gotten over his issues and making a good effort, helping Verity and Mercy and trying to be a voice of reason. This came crashing down around the last quarter of the book. I don't have to like all dynamics and topics used in a book but obviously that impacts my reading experience, since he had the most interactions that don't match my taste I already felt apprehensive of his character but once we hit the Heat scene I almost dropped the book. He felt like the initial impression I had of his character, childish, self-centered and selfish. Even if this was solved fast it still made him a character I didn't enjoy.
  • The pacing of this series was overall more consistent than the Into the Parallel Omegaverse, but some of the gymnastics still made very little sense. At least by that point we didn't go too in depth on those details.

An ok series, with a slightly different take on the a/b/o genre and a whole lot of what I might call experimentally varied sexual content.

A very calm read.

  • This is the same world from this author's other series, Into the Parallel Omegaverse, this time we follow different characters in a different type of situation but we still see some of the characters from the other series.
  • I feel the pacing on this book was better and so was the more technical topics, this probably because we have a lot less of them.
  • The FMC was a character that we met in the previous series, she was already someone we liked and here we just built on top of what we knew, however when we get deeper into her personality I found she lost some of the charm. She came off as confident and responsible but overworked and charged with too many responsibilities but in this book her confidence faded and instead she was just lost, I think this was meant to be because of something that happened right at the beginning of this book but she seemed to get worse as the story progressed. I still enjoyed her but it didn't feel like the same character.
  • When it comes to the MMC's,
    • Grif, the man she met in a plane and stayed obsessed with until they found each other. He was sweet and his arc seems to be left a lot for the next book even though he feels like the main guy since he was the point of contact.
    • Dean, just an overall nice character that didn't cause problems and should have more page time in my opinion.
    • Jonas, the responsible one who takes care of them and accepted and understood the situation after a brief background check.
    • AJ, the guy who started out as an insufferable child but then got redeemed and over his issues in one talk. This came as a good thing because even though I kinda hated him his shift was a good one, even if he doesn't get too much page time.
  • The conflict here suffers from the same as the previous series, there is very little of it. We have the overall secret that will probably cause some problems in the next book, some mildly foreshadowed problems that will also feature in the next book given the cliffhanger stopped there, and the same type of relationship doubts from the previous series.

In conclusion, it was a somewhat calm book with some nice emotional moments that still feels like an introduction. (at least this is a part one!)

A happy ending with not much to it.

  • The mysteries were solved! Turned out the conflict of the series was just finding answers, it was hard, took all three books and was sufficiently satisfying. We also had some issues with other characters and those stayed present to finish in this book and while the conclusion of it wasn't bad it just didn't feel very impactful.
  • In the relationships, we do have more development with the last 2 MMC's but didn't lose time from the others. However, we did have a lot, and I mean a lot! of Shopping shopping shopping. In this book this became one of the biggest ways they showed attention, and honestly I'd never read such a comprehensive tale of shopping.
  • For some of the side characters we had some issues and such happening from others and also this book. In that we had some solved issues and others were just setup for future books.

This turned out to be an enjoyable series. The characters were entertaining and the plot was alright, even if it was very character focused.

We pick up right where we left it.

  • The cliffhanger at the end of the last book is solved fairly quickly, giving us one less conflict all the while dropping some slight hints of what's to come. This part almost finished the whole interdimensional travel plot bit, since it just lost some of the weight in the story at that point.
  • We learn about more designations (even some I'd never heard about) each with their own lore. And we get some more scientific involvement that for me were much better written about in this one.
  • When it comes to the characters, we do spend some more time with other MMC's that weren't as prominent the previous book. However we still seem to develop the relationship's one at a time, last book was Evan and Wes (since they are together), this one is Spencer (who was alone), so I'm guessing next will be Brennan and Jett (who are also a pair).
  • The conflict is still one of the weakest points of the book for me, we have a few interesting issues popping up but it does seem to lack an overall bigger problem or antagonist. This not to say we don't have some confrontations with other characters, some that weren't in the same type of role last book (like Brennan's mother), and some new ones that just appeared out of nowhere to explain some mysteries left undiscovered from last book.
  • I still find some of the pacing odd but it felt a lot more cohesive this time around.

This ending still had a little cliffhanger but not as intense as the last one, however the story has grabbed my attention and kept it so I'll keep going gladly.

An interesting take on a genre I'm not usually a fan of but it still worked.

  • The pace feels like a mix of fast paced for somethings but much much slower for others. This felt a little off to me, especially since this is a planned trilogy of some significant length.
  • The world is described as similar to ours, there are social differences (they are a lot more accepting) and technological ones, and even though the author made some efforts in explaining a bit of this I could tell this was not her forte. That was joined with some other attempts of scientific and other more scholarly subjects that were kind of a miss for me. Still it did not detract too much from my immersion into the story.
  • Conflict wise, this didn't really present us with a main one exactly. We start with her situation being the problem and her memory staying an issue the whole book, but during the majority of it the relationships are the main thing. Not just the differences but the acceptance of new dynamics. This makes one character the main antagonist for this issue and I felt it had reason once we get some backstory to explain but since we don't have it right from the start it felt abrupt. After that was mostly solved we're just waiting for the foreshadowing to become the next big thing.
  • When it comes to characters, they all felt distinctive but we do spend a lot more time with the FMC and only 2 of the MMC's. This looks like it will change in the next books, and it did help to build these relationships a lot so that was nice, I just found the others to also be interesting and wanted more time with them.
  • Some of the dialog was weirdly written for me, like the changes in subject were sudden and didn't have pauses in between, that I felt were missing. This did take a bit to get used to even if it was for the faster pacing to work. Also some of the physics in intimate scenes were not fully making sense.

The ending was surprising and very much worked as a pull to keep reading the series. I'mma go and start the next one right away ;)

The world is part of a different series and they intersect but even if it might benefit to read the other first I didn't feel too lost even if I didn't finish the other one.

  • A modern day world with a caveat, near the city our story is happening in there is a large city only for supernatural creatures that normal humans know nothing about (like no one ever saw a map). Various species are talked about but the main ones are vampires and the hunters of this secret organization that hunt them.
  • This first book is mostly about the initial meeting and relationship between the main characters but it has some plot that was interesting and I look forward to reading about. It also initiates a different plot that is coming slightly from the previous series and unfortunately I didn't find as interesting but seems will be a major plot for the next book.
  • Our FMC is a badass and we get some time and good examples of this which was very much appreciated. She's going through some major life changes and we see her fighting the realization that her worldview might not be fully correct and that felt realistic.
  • When it comes to MMC we get some time with him but in the end since we are only seeing things from the female lead's perspective there is a lot of doubts and going back and forth on how we do see him. This for me felt a little detrimental because I finished the book feeling like we didn't really know him, even if he was sweet and genuine I felt it lacked something.
  • The ending had some good plot twists that had been somehow hinted at during the book but never really had time to fully reveal themselves so they still caught me by surprise.

I will continue on but with some caution since my particular experiences with this author are mostly just ok.

Some of the weirdest names I've read, all of them.

  1. Very very fast paced character focused book. It's straight up insta-love and lust.
  2. We have some sweet guys, at least one is a kinky one and a grumpy one that has to cause some issues or this would be too smooth sailing.
  3. The female lead is fine, a soft type that is somehow a little too perfect for me, even with some past trauma it doesn't feel like we see the effects of it.
  4. Near the end we have the typical third act trope and we follow that by reconciliation and one of the only tropes that can almost immediately stop me from going on, pregnancy.

This was an ok ride for me with more sex scenes than i expected.

Holy miscommunication trope.

There isn't much i can say about this, it's a fast paced story, with a sweet relationship that suffers from the above mentioned miscommunication trope a lot. Despite being fast paced I wouldn't say it's insta love and there is some plot focused on the main issue of the book, being trapped in an unknown place.

DNF at 27%

  • The guy comes of as a demanding, possibly controlling, with aggressive tendencies that only orders the main character around.
  • The girl just goes along with anything even if she didn't want to, or didn't feel comfortable. Also kinda judgy of herself and thinks like a cliché guy(it's all sex and horniness).

I couldn't go on.

Despite the synopsis there is more than pure smut...

  • The main character, Newt, was a bit weird to me, he felt insecure about being different from his family and kept some distance because of this, however all we heard about wasn't just because he wanted to be a werewolf, he wanted to be alpha so I felt a bit disconnected from him.
  • Colin was mostly sweet, and the relationship benefited from that.
  • The bad guy didn't feel very threatening and while blackmailing our main character he somehow believed in him?! This felt confusing because of the confidence he seemed to have that a breakthrough was not only possible but imminent. The conclusion of this arc was ok, it made sense but was very much rushed and still I didn't feel satisfied with it.

For a book with some plot but mostly not it was ok.

A solid bloody ride.

  • Our FMC is a manic pixie type, we hear she's quite good at what she does but despite how many times we hear it I felt we didn't see it enough. Beyond that she is likeable enough with a weird positive attitude and very few sad times even if she does have some mental issues.
  • Felix is her partner that already loves her and has an established solid relationship, from him we see a lot of depth in issues and personality which may be good in some ways but I felt we spent a little too much time in his head and repeating the insecurities he was feeling. Still that does create a bigger bond from the reader to this character making his progression particularly satisfying.
  • The alphas, most of them felt distinctive but two of them could have been the same character and we wouldn't have minded. This does not mean all four weren't likeable, just that some important personality traits were shared, It did not help that we spend more time or meaningful time with the other two. Still liked them overall.
  • Conflict was a bit divided in this, we have an issue that is purely personal and pertaining to the relationship of the main characters, that was the longest one but not the most engaging for me since they have a tendency to become circular.
  • The second main conflict was hinted at but only at the very end does it actually make a proper appearance. Somehow it didn't fully feel rushed and got some really satisfying conclusion. The bad guy was sufficiently competent and was not super easy and quick to go down.

This took me a bit of forcing because of the personal issues but everything else was good.

A rocky start that gave way to an ok book.

  • This is a multi POV book and we switch between characters a lot but we still have a few that get more time than others. This is present with the 4 alpha guys story wise too. We have more development of one or two and the others just kind of fade in the background. Despite that they have distinct personalities making it easy to tell them apart.
  • The 2 omegas suffer a somewhat similar situation but still get more attention than the alphas.
  • We don't have much external conflict, it is mostly about each person's issues and personalities. The few times we have antagonists they were very one dimensional, abrupt since we had no idea they existed and dispatched very quickly.
  • Relationship wise we have a lot of misunderstandings, and lack of proper communication, this leads to some yearning and frustration for both the characters and the reader (me). It took a bit of time to build up and it wasn't all that satisfying when they did get together.

In the end it was a ok book, with ok characters....

Dark themes, with a sweeter filling.

  • Our FMC in this is actually strong and powerful and we get to see that throughout the book. She doesn't suffer too much from the strong so can't have emotions, instead when emotions happen and we have a reluctant reaction it's from trauma.
  • The love interests are distinguishable from each other and from the previous books in this series. They are all dealing with their own issues and traumas in different ways, some of which were quite a surprise to me. Even if some of the feelings felt a little violent even when it comes to the romance it still did not tip into the dark romance type which is very much appreciated since it was not classified as such, even if it did deal with some dark themes in the relationship.
  • When it comes to conflict this book presented plenty of enemies and even if most of them felt a bit one dimensional and the resolution of their issues felt a bit too fast, we still have the one who turned out to be the main enemy that provided some surprises up until the end, even if I would have enjoyed a more definite conclusion.

This actually had quite a bit of plot and a nice connection to the overall series.

Sweet and uncomplicated

  • A fun and slightly too perfect female lead, her only fault was really being different from other society girls. Still despite this she was still fun to read about.
  • The love interests are all different and lend something to the story so they were useful.
  1. We get some nice pinning for each other, some banter that is actually sexual tension, some trauma that makes it hard to accept the relationship and still we have a nice build up of their relationship with the main female lead.
  2. This doesn't fully match the bisexual side, there is still banter but some of the previously established relationships we never really see since they disappear once the new dynamic starts.
  • Character focused instead of plot. The biggest conflict we have besides the relationship stuff is minor and solved somewhat easily and since it happens right at the end it didn't fully satisfy that part.

Overall it was a nice read with characters I enjoyed and wouldn't mind seeing again. It does end in a way that leads to a possible other book for some new characters.

This book is part of a series but only because they're in the same world, previous book characters are only mentioned and do not appear.

  • We have a FMC that has some romantic trauma, making her a bit insecure and hesitant when it comes to new relationships, this is one of the major "conflicts" of the beginning of the book. Other than that, she is actually assertive and confident once the first issues are mostly solved, making her likeable and somewhat relatable.
  • The biggest issue in the book turns out to be the transition of Darren into an Omega and subsequent issues. For me this was well written.
  • The other male leads were distinguishable enough that they didn't all blend together for me, still letting me have some i liked less than others.
  • The pacing was ok, because we had a lot to deal with before advancing in the romance area it took a while, but once the relationship actually started I felt that some issues just kind of drifted away leaving very little lingering effects and speeding up the whole thing.

It was an enjoyable read.

The details matter.

  • The world is fine, the typical alphas are best and omega are next and betas are just there. Nothing groundbreaking just typical.
  • When it comes to the characters, some were really good and others just a little flat to me.
  • Any of this was broken for me by the writing, the language was good and had some good points, but the big issue was the details.
  1. Time was everywhere and very little of it made sense, "they arrived at 12h and 3 hours later it was 4:47..."(not an actual quote) and many other instances where it was one day and the next paragraph it was a completely different day or hour. Just confusing.
  2. While the time was passing apparently there were things happening that we only heard about later as if we knew this information.
  3. These characters where somehow omniscient and knew things that we ourselves only knew because we got multiple POV's. The amount of times the FMC talked about how Jonah was holding a fracturing pack, but when Joan himself only realized it last chapter was weird. And also this same thought was repeated about 4 times in as many chapters.
  4. Some little details kept getting rewritten, very beginning one of the guys cooks when he's stressed (also our FMC) and a few chapters later they couldn't cook for their lives. They made their offices in the second floor and a few chapters later it was the third...

This was a bit of a long rant but for a book that had nice language and premise the writing details really took me out of it.

Short and sweet,

  • Mafia man with some serious family trauma that apparently only shows in his profession and all related tendencies and, with his treatment of women. This made for an enjoyable male lead, he was very sweet to the female lead and still showed some toughness outside of that making this somewhat believable.
  • Nina is an artist, not only in profession but apparently also in acting, something we get a few scenes of.
  • The focus of the book is the characters, mostly their relationship so we don't have a very defined conflict to drive the story. We have a few encounters with some "bad guys" and any altercations are solved by our "good" mafia guys.
  • It's a fast paced story that despite talking about some serious issues keeps it light and breezes right through the process of recovery.

I'm here for the romance so that was satisfying.

A dragged out and unsatisfying end.

  • A bad guy that has been talked about and feared for decades, amassed an unnatural amount of power and followers, is willing to sacrifice everything to.... appear all of 3 chapters and die in 5 hits without causing any damage to our main characters. Underwhelming.
  • Relationships that have been established since the first meeting and lend very little to the actual story. Even the intimate scenes sometimes felt they came at the wrong time and messed with the rhythm of the plot.
  • There were some points that were inconsistent, one moment we get information about some details and then they just forget about it and have to learn the same thing again.

In conclusion, I only finished it to see if there were any surprises coming but it left me feeling bored, like very little happened.

Keep on keeping on slowly.

  • Not much development in the worldbuilding, which from the works I've read it's not uncommon with this author.
  • As for the main character I don't see much change, but we did get a few more shows of her being powerful as it was said before.
  • When it comes to the love interests I still have a bit of a hard time distinguishing between them when it's not explicitly indicated. The psychotic personalities don't feel very true to description.
  • The conflict is still not very present this book, mostly we have a boogeyman type of villain that hasn't appeared even after we heard about him a lot. Only a few instances that still seem more psychological and still doesn't feel very threatening for me.

Slowly and still not super satisfying but because it doesn't feel finished enough I'll keep reading.

An okay start.

  • The worldbuilding is being done slowly as this focuses more on the characters but we still get a rough idea of how it is set up, still left me some questions that i hope are answered in the next books.
  • Our female main character starts out somewhat self aware but as the story goes on she seems to lose some of that. She is supposed to be strong but we only see it a few times, mostly we hear about the fact from her.
  • The love interests seem too similar to each other so except when we are told who we are interacting with I personally can't tell. Despite that they seem likeable enough.
  • As for the conflict, this book feels more like setup the whole way, we hear about a bad guy and suffer minor mental damages but it doesn't feel like it has started yet.

I'll keep going but hope there are some developments of these points.

A good sequel that should have been part 2,

  • We pick up right from the ending of the last book (further making them feel like 2 parts of one) and we finally learn a reason for her being the last one of her species. It feels highly biased on purpose.
  • The main character grows a bit in power in this book by learning a little about the past and trying new magic but I still felt like she was underutilized for someone that is supposed to be extremely powerful.
  • When it comes to relationships,
  1. The one friend she had from last book didn't make much of an appearance in this one so that sucked.
  2. There is some growth in her 2 relationships with the two guys from last book.
  3. The guys we were unsure about are still in the same category, the might or might not be.
  4. There are 2 additions that I actually liked until the moment of them being added to the harem because after all the personality they were showing and connection they were building by the 80% mark the speed ramps up which kinda left an iffy taste in my mouth.
  • The conflict is still not the strong suit of this series, there are some hardships our characters go through that gave it a bit of texture but the main issue from last book that was left to this one was kinda solved right at the beginning of this one and only deepened right at the ending just in time to leave un in a cliffhanger.

I still found this enjoyable and would like to continue, however the third book that was supposed to release in October 2025 is nowhere to be found and there are no news that I could find about it.

An enjoyable fast paced ride.

  • A modern world where supernatural creatures live by keeping the humans separate from themselves and have control of society. Besides that we don't go into too much detail about these things.
  • The main character just discovers that she is not human and while she does go through an adjustment period it doesn't last too long to keep the book's fast pacing. Also discovers that she is supposed to be super strong and powerful to the point of having to hide from everyone, but despite that we don't really see much of that come into play in this book.
  • A lot of the focus is on her building relationships, with the 2 guys that right away are absolute goners for her (no slow burn here in emotions), as well as a few more guys that we are not so sure about but somehow also could possibly be love interests in the future.
  • The conflict here is mostly left for the ending making it feel like a part one book instead of a full book. Because of this we have very little to no answers and no real feel for motivation except, survival of our main character and envy from whoever is the power behind the conflict that has just started.
  • The language and overall feel is very casual which makes this a fast read for me since there is not overcomplicated language or mystery so far.

I'll continue on and hopefully enjoy the rest of the series.

Light and sweet, mostly

  • The female main character was one of triplets and even though she mentions once or twice that she feels like part of the set and not a standout I didn't feel it. She didn't feel very insecure to me, but we also don't get too much focus on her family.
  • Duke Stone is aptly named as his personality is quite the same, he is stoic and taciturn but underneath there is a heart of gold and some unknown charm. This is extra obvious by the time jumps we get where the relationship progresses in our absence so we mostly see the changes and they're already being treated as the new normal.
  • The conflict in this is mostly from their relationship, the misunderstandings and small fights. From the beginning we get some secrets they're not sharing and when they talk about them they're quickly followed by a new secret for no good reason except to provide a little more conflict before the final reveal of a bad guy.

In conclusion, this was an ok read, entertaining enough but nothing groundbreaking.

Very quick and sweet.

  • This lacked a bit of depth for me, despite the initial premise being serious it didn't fully convince me. Didn't help that after that first conflict it just fizzled out and left a bit of an empty feeling.
  • In the relationship we get a "lot" of yearning that feels very lust fueled and their actual relationship felt the same way for me. Not to mention their obsession with breeding being kinda the reason they get together.Because the male lead is actually sweet towards the girl I wouldn't consider this dark romance.

Overall it was a bit underwhelming but nothing particularly bad to say about it, mostly just felt like it lacked.

A continuation that honestly became a little underwhelming.

  • We pick up right where we left the last book. With the reemergence of issues that made this feel a bit repetitive right from the start.
  • The characters don't feel like they evolved much from one book to the next making it honestly feel like these two parts should be only one book put together. But honestly they were the highlight of this series.
  • We get introduced to more problems with bigger consequences that impact the whole society of this book (that honestly felt a little close to home). These were bigger issues than the previous ones but given this is the hopeful start of a series they did not get solved, so they only served to make the bleak situations in this world feel unsurmountable and frustrating.

Overall, I felt underwhelmed with this, because the issues from the first book were mostly resolved right at the start of this one and then we had to wait until almost the end to see the culmination of the others, this felt like it really went nowhere.
