Writing was much better than the first book. Really fun and unexpected adventures and challenges for the characters in this book. Looking forward to the last one.

Really loved this book. The storytelling was fantastic. Some of it was predictable, but there were also some great twists and turns. A really interesting world and couldn't put it down.

Took a while to get into it. Lots of expected tropes. But the ending really hooked me to continue with the series.

I love the idea. I think the characters are super interesting. And I love the way the author approaches writing this so it feels like it's coming from a scholarly character. But it was just kind of boring somehow. I couldn't finish. I'm sure there's something later in the book that would have sucked me in to the end, but I just couldn't get into it. Stopped about half way.
