I would recommend to fans of quirky, scifi fans and to anyone looking for a quick, no commitment read. But give it a miss if you want EXACTLY what the summary promises.

I can see why people wouldn't like this... But I can also see why ppl would love this. This is the kind of feel good that I look for when I go into a ya contemporary romance. My heart ♥

At 60% in I was convinced that this was going to be 3 stars at best. I wasn't convinced of the story or the need to continue on with this series. But then THE plot twist happened at about 75 so I added a half star in my mental tally. Then the ending happened and asknfldfldjfldjk. I see who is responsible for all those cliffhangers in the Illuminae series now.

This one is better! Oh yes. I finally connected with the characters and the plot in a way that I didn't in book 1. Don't get me wrong, Tella was still highly annoying and selfish but Scarlett's minimal role really helped me not dislike her any more than I did in book 1. The storytelling was still on point, possibly even better in this one.

Also, what's going to happen with Legend and the Fates??? And now SpoilerParadise Lost is back?! Is Dante/Legend really Elantine's heir?. I need answers dammit. When's book 3 coming out again?
