I didn't get it but I think that's normal? Probably needs a re-read to fully understand it but I don't really feel like it right now.
Really did not like Lamora as a character, too annoying for my taste. Somehow most of the other characters are even less likable. I really liked it when Tannen beat the crap out of him lol, I guess Tannen is pretty cool.
Whole book can be summarized to Persephone thinking and saying to others “you guys are dumb, don't do what you are about to do”, and her proceeding to do something dumb and not let others talk her out of it. I'm all for powerful women and stuff, but she's not it. She is incompetent and got into power by accident, thinking she is the only one that can save everyone. Maybe being lucky is her superpower. idk.
The only saving grace is Suri and Minna.
Reminds me of trashy power fantasy anime. OP main character doing OP stuff, I never really feel any tension due to it. The side characters make it better though, they all have their own personalities and I wish Wight explores that more in the later books.
