The story was okay. The writer showed how “civilized behaviors” are just societal norms. In a city where u eat with spoons and fork, don’t play with food is a civilized behavior; these same boys when stuck in island convinced themselves dancing around after killing the pig (food) , painting there face is civilized… the writer gave a hint that we humans are all savage creature held back by the society. In summary it’s just a social psychology in a nutshell. It is an interesting topic which got lost in the sloppy writing .
It is really hard to read and the writing is overly extended. The plane crashed, only children survived left in of food and look out to be rescued.. idk what is worthy in this line for it to be overly extended to a literally one whole chapter! I’d skip a good chunk of pages and still nothing happened.. I later had to switch to a children’s version book to get the story across.

Worst book I’ve ever read my entire life!!
This book was amazingly marketed for such a shitty book. there is literally no plot line. Half of the book was basically the main character giving us a tour of this human factory. It solely relied on shock factor to get readers to the end. Reading this second time is literally impossible cuz this time when shock is finished you’ll realized there is literally no main plot.

the MC just doing vile shit in the name of trauma of a broken family. He f***ed his female coworker in front of someone peeping through the window in a slaughterhouse. Got the female specimen, he got as a gift, pregnant. All while being married to a wife who lives in her mother’s house (for a period of time) to heal from the trauma of stillborn son. Killed the female specimen after giving birth to his son. The wife said “ why would u do that? She could give us more kids! “ this shows that the wife isn’t healed from the pain of lost son. The wife and husband then lived together with “their” son.
That’s the only plot you’ll find. That’s the only story.
It had a good potential which was just wasted. There is a anti-govt part to it where govt controls the media and scientific community to show meat is a necessity and being vegan can kill u, that’s why cannibalism Is legal. Some minority believes that this is just govt planning to deal with overpopulation, which majority says is conspiracy’s theory.
Another part where people are required to carry umbrella becuz bird droppings can give u the “animal” virus. And the MC doesn’t belives the govt, is vegan and doesn’t carry umbrella. When the MC’s sister urged him to carry umbrella he asked her, “ what about mosquitoes? Aren’t they animals too? Why do we get sick from birds but not mosquitoes? Can’t u see that govt is manipulating u people? You all are just a puppet to govt! “ the sister still sides with govt.
IF the writer wrote the story centering this plot, it would honestly be a very amazing book.
When I searched about this I found out the writer’s main objective is to show what would happen if humans were in place of cows… But the problem is the writer created disgusting “techniques “ used in slaughter house that doesn’t even exists in real life to make readers feel guilty.
Like, when all 4 limbs of pregnant women is cut off so they don’t kill their babies. Or when vocal cords of humans were cut off so they are easy to tame etc. like, SERIOUSLY!
This book is the prime example of when the writer’s personal belief ruins a good plot of book. 1 star for the good writing/ vivid description and even mentioning the anti-govt part cuz it true. Govt doesn’t always think good for citizens.
