Okay, okay, okay - I love me a good rivals to lovers. A. River managed to hook me right from the beginning. All characters are likeable and each have their own little quirks that makes them more dimensional than flat. The story is predictable but the overall tension is very good.

I thoroughly enjoyed being back in 15th century Italy with Ezio and the assassin gang. As someone who've played the game years ago, it was nice to get the story refreshed now that I'm getting further into the story in the other games.

The book somewhat starts where the first left off. You get a throwback that then bleeds into the now.
The whole book was one big rollercoaster, so if you’re looking for happy flowers, then go re-read the first book, be mindful of the dark romance tag. Also Stewart I will not forgive you for *that*..
