This was such a sweet (and spicy) love story. There were times I found Beth a bit over-the-top needy, but given her upbringing, I could understand it.

I loved that Jace and his ex-wife were able to maintain such an amicable relationship and be great co-parents. Max was adorable, and the way he accepted Beth into his and his dad's life was especially sweet. Kids have a way of seeing only the good, and it's a shame we as a society don't typically retain that as we age.

Jace and Beth were perfect together–and perfect for each other. My only complaint about the book is that it ended. I would love to get a glimpse of them in the future.

I wasn't prepared for Zee and Barney. They are so hot together, and yet both carry so much baggage from their pasts. They suffered at the hands of someone they cared about–in very different ways–and their pain was tangible while I was reading it. While I suspected what was going on, it was still a slap in the face when everything came to light (for me as well as the characters themselves). I was heartbroken, and kept pulling for this couple to find their way back to each other. This was another scorching hot read from Verlene; one that I thoroughly enjoyed!!

I loved everything about this story–Rush's tough guy persona and his penchant for disco (I mean, who doesn't love disco??), Tatum's sassy attitude and quirky personality, and the tongue-in-cheek Runaway Bride references. It's always fun watching a tough guy find his soulmate, and when Rush finally realized it–WOW. The man fell hard. The author did an amazing job of bringing them to life and weaving all the threads of Tatum's backstory together. It was also fun to see Mark and Charlie's antics included.
