I just finished Lexi Davis's book and I am officially a changed woman. I went into this thinking it was just going to be another quick read, but now I'm sitting here wondering how a single pizza delivery could possibly change a person's life this much.
Carrson and Laurel are absolute goals and have quickly become one of my favorite couples.
If you live for a good enemies-to-lovers trope with a side of "forced proximity/we're bonded now so deal with it," then this book is basically your new personality. I was honestly living for their power couple energy because they move into that "us against the world" phase so fast, and there is just nothing better than watching them team up to burn The Order to the ground.
I'm also completely obsessed with Laurel's glow-up. Seeing Carrson help her find her confidence again and basically teach her how to be a total badass and handle herself was everything. We love a supportive, if slightly terrifying king! The best part is that this book actually had me laughing out loud because they're so witty and funny together, but then two seconds later, I'm on the edge of my seat holding my breath. The emotional whiplash is real and I loved every single second of it. Lexi Davis is officially on my "must-buy" list now, so if you want a book that has humor, tension, and a couple that will make you forget your own name youneed to read this immediately. This was the best cliffhanger I've read in a long time. I cant wait for the next one.
