Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So I knew the gist of this having watched the miniseries religiously as a child with my father, I don't know if he ever knew this was a book series as he wasn't much of a reader but once I found out I always wanted to read it making it a bucket list challenge of sorts.
The story itself doesn't stray from the memory of the series I grew up with and even though we watched it a lot I found I had forgotten many of the POV's and stories and even how some of the major events paned out. I couldn't believe my memory was so poorly and it made me sad for my father to think I had forgotten so much he had loved so dearly.
After reading the series chronologically till now I knew what the prose was like and what I was getting into and like I thought they just keep getting better and I'm excited to finish the series with Streets of Laredo next.
