Contradictory claims are made about Heath - first he's hiding lack of confidence with an arrogant attitude, then he's admitting to Chase that's he's a cocky guy after they get together. I need some consistency! Quite a few corny statements and too many endearments leave me feeling blah about the whole thing.

This was a best friends to lovers story with lots of miscommunication, to the point that it was pretty difficult to believe. I thought it got off to a good start, but it didn't live up to its potential. I found Hunt's roommate Greg and his buddies cartoonishly evil and couldn't really take them seriously. There were a few instances of incorrect words being used - the one I remember off the top of my head is when Hunt had never slept so profoundly (rather than soundly). Overall, it was so-so.

Well that was just adorable.

Incredibly rushed, not in the least believable, but at least it was short.

I struggled to get through this one because it was practically all telling and very little showing. I'd guess that 90% of it is repetitive over-explanation of the characters' thoughts and feelings in great detail rather than what was actually happening or being said. I really liked the prompt, which is why I kept reading, hoping that it would get better, but I have to say I was disappointed and wish I hadn't stuck it out.

I'm pretty sure I just got punked. Like, I think it was purposely written to make no sense. It was all over the place and I could hardly follow what was happening. This was my facial expression the entire time I was reading:

This was the first tent-sex story I've read where I was not turned on in the least. Thank goodness it was short!

This is porn, with a twist. Basically, Dean gets to experiment with a sex clone of himself. I wasn't all that turned on by it, but I'm giving bonus points for creativity!

This story was ok, but a few things kept me from really enjoying it. The first was the scarcity of contractions in the dialogue. I probably wouldn't have been quite as annoyed if I hadn't come across this problem several times recently, and this time was the straw that broke the camel's back. It makes for very stilted conversations because no one talks like that unless they're a robot. Most of the times I deliberately don't use them is when I'm emphasizing something. For instance: I do not find corduroy pants sexy. This is what came to mind when I read that:

shudders

Just, no. I'm sure there are probably sexier versions out there, but I only know one guy who wears corduroys and they look like the above pic, so that's the image in my head. Instant turn-off. Also, why was Malachi wearing corduroys and flannel in Florida??

Another thing that bugged me was Seth's OTT begging. I get that some people actually do that, but I find those people annoying. They're like yippy little terrier puppies. If I had been Malachi, I would have stared, rolled my eyes, and told him if he kept it up I'd walk away.

Other than those things, the story was fine with a sweet ending. I just couldn't ignore the other stuff (mainly the contraction thing) enough to enjoy it.

I wasn't able to enjoy the relationship in this book because of Jordan's shitty behavior. Mac made a bad first impression on me due to his poor work ethic (I felt pretty sorry for Drew, his business partner), but he eventually grew on me. Jordan, however, had no redeeming qualities. He repeatedly cheated on his fiancé (IDGAF that she had been cheating on him. He had no proof of that when he did it. They're both cheaters and they deserved each other) and kept stringing poor Mac along while he waffled about what he wanted, even though Mac made it pretty damn clear he didn't want to be Jordan's gay sex experiment. He continued to show his true colors by telling Mac a significant lie, then gave a bullshit excuse when confronted about it. I'm not sure why I should feel that Jordan is a catch, other than the hot sex. Meh, sex ain't everything, folks.

This book sort of reminded me of Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series, except it had all men and werewolves, and wasn't quite as good. I found the action in Brockmann's books to be much more engrossing. As far as Lucas and Noah's relationship goes, I love sexual tension, but I got so frustrated that no one would talk to poor Lucas about what was going on no matter how much he asked!! They were all like, oh you're doing fine, we'll talk later. There's no real reason to keep you in the dark but we're going to do it anyway. UGH!

There comes a point when lack of communication becomes absurd, and these guys crossed way over that line. Despite that, it was enjoyable, and I LOVED all the biting and dominance. Yum! I guess I'll continue the series, though word is that the next one is nothing but sex, I guess to make up for the scarcity of it in this book. Maybe if I go into it expecting PWP I won't be too disappointed.

Why write a review when Natasha says everything I'm thinking in hers?

This wasn't bad until the sapfest at the end kinda ruined it for me. Also, the dialogue on the beach seemed a little awkward to me. I liked the setup of the story though. If sap makes you do this:

you should read it. However, if you, like me, react like this:

don't :)

2.5 stars rounded up to 3 since I think I would have enjoyed it more had I been in the right mood. Read this one if you like the sound of an established couple trying to spice things up in the bedroom - key word trying, because nothing ever goes the way they plan. The ending was my favorite part of this story.

Too many LL stories, not enough time to review them.

All of Lisa Henry's books are well written, and this was no exception. I think if it had been longer with more relationship and character development, it would have been a 4 star for me.

I had trouble getting through this one because I found it boring, and the characters didn't interest me. I couldn't figure out why anyone considered Luke a leader since he didn't seem to know how to do anything. I never saw him act like a leader. I also thought the decision at the end was pretty ill-advised.

I was wary of reading this story because I'd 1 starred the only other thing I'd read by this author due to the writing quality. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised this time. The premise is silly and ridiculous, but it's still a cute and sweet story that I found very entertaining. I had a couple niggles about some of the dialogue, but they were minor. I think she did a great job with the prompt.

This book held my interest and the sex was hot, but that's about all it had going for it. I didn't find it believable, and the characters didn't seem to have much chemistry outside the bedroom. I just didn't get why these 3 guys were so “in love” with one another. I'm rounding up to 3 stars because it was entertaining just for the sheer WTFery of it all.

This book didn't work for me. There was too much telling rather than showing. I felt like someone was telling me about a book instead of experiencing it myself. I also didn't sense any chemistry between the MCs. Those who've read my review of Trouble & the Wallflower know my thoughts on the dilemma these two guys found themselves facing.

Meh, this story wasn't for me. The type of humor used is not the sort that I find funny, and neither character really appealed to me. I quickly lost count of the number of times Mike groaned and pouted - seemed like that's all he ever did. I thought their behavior was too ridiculous to be believable so I really couldn't get into the story.

Ehhhh, it was ok. I laughed when after Shane told his captain that Dimitri was homophobic, the captain countered that there was nothing in his résumé that indicated that. WTF? Is that something people typically include in their résumé? LOL!

Also, I don't understand why Shane wouldn't tell his superiors that CJ was an informant, unless it's going to turn out that the lieutenant is the serial killer. If that's the case though, it still didn't make sense because it's not like Shane suspected him, so why was he withholding information from his bosses?

Then there were the dreaded endearments, one of my pet peeves. So overall, it was somewhat entertaining, but not enough for me to want to read more of their story.

YES. That was...amazing. I don't like saying much about dark books like this that I love (others include The Flesh Cartel and In These Words) because I think one of the things that makes it so great is going in not knowing what will happen. So, no spoilers, not even in tags. Just, if you like dark books, you must read this one! Thank you Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock! This is going straight to my favorites shelf!

That was so good!! Sweet but not too sappy, and damn, that dance scene was HOT.

This was so ridiculously hot and entertaining. I forgot how much I love how this author writes from Stiles' POV. I thought there were a few too many dudes and mans early on in the story, but I was quickly distracted by the “totally straight” sexy times. You need to suspend your disbelief a little bit on how long Stiles is able to remain in denial, but I so didn't care!

Can this story just go on forever please?

Nice little prequel to [b: In These Words 13549765 In These Words, Volume 1 Kichiku Neko https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1387548728s/13549765.jpg 19116141] that has a tie-in to [b: Father Figure 16114592 Father Figure Kichiku Neko https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1376784062s/16114592.jpg 21931655]. I admit I'm disappointed at the lack of on-page sex in this one, and the little hints about Katsuya's past just make me frustrated that there's even more I don't know about him! Will we ever have all our questions answered??
