Dandelion Wine

There is truly something other worldly about Dandelion Wine that nothing else has come close to. Ray Bradbury has an incredible skill of weaving together words, sentences, and paragraphs into a grand yet digestible feast for the imagination. This book makes you feel nostalgic for a time you have never experienced before yet so familiar at the same time. The story on page 102 made me more sad and thoughtful than any other work of art has in a while. Here is a special reflective passage from Dandelion Wine, “No special reason, it seems, but they seem almost to be born that way. They bruise easier, tire faster, cry quicker, remember longer and, as I say, get sadder younger than anyone else in the world. I know, for I'm one of them.” pg 220. No other book has ever hit that close to home for me before and I doubt one will ever again come that near to my heart. It just encompasses and balances feelings of melancholy and enjoying the moment. Give Dandelion Wine a read, it won't disappoint.
