Very unique story line. I have never read anything like this before. At first I found the story line a little hard to follow but everything starts to make sense around chapter three. I really enjoyed the book even though it is not typical to what I normally read. After finishing the book I passed it on to a friend of mine who completely devoured the book in one sitting.
There are so many things going on in this books. It follows many different characters that are all associated with a company that has developed cutting edge holographic technology in the home entertainment industry. The partners are in disagreement about whether or not to venture into the adult entertainment business. There is a lot more going on but I can't figure out a way to summarize without adding spoilers. There is stalker like obsession, brain washing, lust, love, betrayal, and the list could go on and on. I love how the author was able to pack so much into the story line and not have the book end up being about a zillion pages long. I look forward to reading next installment.

I really liked how this book began when the female main character was a young child. An innocent gesture of a very curious little girl causes a blood bond to be formed between herself and a vampire who lives next door. Everyone he kills while feeding she has a nightmare about the act. The vampire feels the little girl'suick girl's knowledge of his true nature is threat to him but can't seem to make himself ‘ttake care of the problem'. Years later he kidnaps her and curiosity turns to budding romance. The vampire is soon feeling emotions he thought had died the night he became a vampire. This was quick read consisting of around 100 pages. I liked the charaters and felt they worked well together. NOT A CLIFFHANGER (Yes there is a second in the series but the story doesn't just stop and require you to read the next book to know what happened with the main couple). I am curious to see where the next story takes us.
A friend of mine raved about this book. While I am not as awestruck as she is (when I told her I was reading it I swear she got moist in the eyes). I did enloy this book but at times I found myself annoyed by the writing style. This book simply put is a mediocre author with great knowledge and insider information. If this book hadn't been about such a notorious, well known serial killer I doubt anyone would ever have read it. The only reason I gave it three stars was that it did keep me entertained.
Quick read that holds your interest.
The main characters in this book are a stripper, an angel, and the devil. Something quite funny happened to me while I was reading this book. I was in the waiting room of my doctor's office waiting to be called back when a woman a little older than me asked what I was reading. Well I told her the name of it and she instantly looks it up on her phone. That's is when I notice she is where a shirt with WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) stamped on the front of it. OH SHIT! After reading the blurb for the book she gives the best ‘oh, you are so going to hell look' I have ever seen. She then walked up to the window seperating the receptionist from the waiting area and tells the lady that she wants to cancel her appointment because she feels uncomfortable being around certain other patients in the waiting room...lol...I was the only one there. That being said some people may find this offensive.
Samantha Victoria nailed it with this one! This book is nicely written and wrapped in an amazing cover. I love the cover so much on this book that I want a blown up replica of it to frame and hang on my wall.
The way this book is written is what makes it so special. The words flow beatifully and the character's personalities stay consistant throughout the entire story. This story line is not all that original but it didn't feel like I was reading a story that I had already read like so many other books like this tend to do.
Cheyenne was raised in a Sons of Anarchy like family. She leaves town in hopes of putting her dysfunctional past behind her and begin a new life after her mother was murdered by a rival biker gang. She moves in with her best friend Tabby who also left the biker life behind for a fresh start. She meets Joss who happens to be a little bit of a bad boy himself with a closet full of skeletons. She tries to steer clear of but can't seem to stop herself falling for him.
I hope this author has more to come in the future. I received the book in exchange for an honest review but I would willingly have paid for it considering how much I enjoyed. I honestly feel guilty for having received this for free.

This book completely took me by surprise, ILOVED IT! I had never heard of this author before and accidentally stumbled across this while looking for a book by my favorite author (J R Ward). Well I ended up completely devouring this book and have only read about 20 or so pages of the other. That is how good this book is! As soon as I finish writing this I am going to grab the second installment in this series.
This book is set in a world were the human population is aware of the were (shifter) population and usually avoid each other as much as possible. MacKenzie is a mutant, meaning she doesn't fully shift, and is considered a freak by the were community. She has been living in the human society successfully blending in with them and being unnoticed. After years of hiding she has taught herself to not become attatched to people and basically turn her emotions off. She knows she is incapable of love.
Wonderful, cheeky, modern retelling of Little Bunny Foo Foo song. Rabbit Foo Foo rides through the forest on a motorcycle hitting the creatures that live there with a wooden hammer! Loved it, so did my son. I am trying to pass on my love of books to my children and am always impressed when one has my boy, who can't sit still for more then a second, shouting, “Read it again! “

GOOD JOB, MR. STRUMP! YOUR WORDS HAVE PAINTED A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE IN MY HEAD. I did not expect to actually enjoy this book but it sucked me in and soon I felt like I was right there beside the characters experiencing their adventures along side them. I am positive Vreeland will stay alive in my mind for quite sometime. This book could easily become the next hit thing. I would not be surprised if I one day see an animated Anton and Titi on television and little plastic replicas of them in the toy department.
At summer camp Anton runs off into the woods after the other kids play a horrible prank on him and make fun of because of his pointy ears. He falls into a hole in the ground and finds himself in a place called Vreeland. He finds that many things here are the same as home only on a much larger scale, a cherry tomato that won't even fit through the front door. He encounters many different types of people, some have wings and pointy ears, others are short and as round as they are tall, there are even some that have fins and live in the water (mermaids but that's not what they are called). He is instantly drawn to a fairy like girl name Titi and soon finds himself falling in love with her. Anton is believed to be the Chosen One who is prophesied to save the Queen of Peace from the evil Lord of the Weets.
I recommend this book to people of all ages who enjoyed books such as Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan etc.
my! That ending! I never expected that.
This was spooky, well written, and the characters were well rounded. There were a couple parts that really gave me the creeps and had me jumping at any noise I heard. I kept waiting for that little girl from the Ring movies to pop over for a visit.
At the time of this review, this has $4.99 price tag. Is it worth that? I don't think I would pay that much for this. I would wait for this at a discounted price.
I will definitely read more by this author if the price is right.

I loved this book. Very solid world building. It has a sort of ‘Me Tarzan, you Jane type of main charator.
Caderan the Hunter, a merman, saves Bridget, an oceanograher, for a death by sea. He takes her to his home in The Abyss, a magical realm located under the sea.
There is loads of steamy, and I mean STEAMY sex. The world building was amazing in this book. I finished this whole series in less then two days unable to stop myself from clicking that that 1-click-buy button that Amazon so nicely helped me max my credit card out with...lol.

Magno and Ron set out together to try and solve the crime. Through out the book, Ron is crushing on Magno so hard. I love the way she handles his advances. This story reminds me of a comic book without pictures. I imagine Ron and Magno running around all over the pages and acting out the story as they tell it to me. I love this!
I love both Ron, and Magno. With almost every sentence, the author tells us more about them.

I like this book. I love this series. I do think maybe Dani's books should have been their own series. It's a nice break from Mac. I picked this up after not touching the series for some time. I needed to refresh what all had happened.
I read this with my 12 year old for his summer reading project. Some of the best time we have had in a while.
This book aged well. Being that it is set in the outdoors with an absence of modern, and not so modern technology makes enjoyable and relatable to today's youth.
I recommend this for boys and girls both ages 10 and up. Adults will enjoy this as well. Anyone interested in a book about coming of age surviving in the wild, or just an engaging story.
This surprised me. I liked it more than expected. I would have loved to have seen less romance and more action or world building. The world is what is most intriguing.
I will definitely be watching for the next book in this series, more from this author. This has potential to be amazing as the story builds. I so hope this becomes all it can be as a series, I am impatient to find out what is to come.

I read this, and two other novels, while travelling out of state to set up funeral arrangements for my father in law. I needed a distraction, this did just that. For that I give much thanks to the author, Elizabeth Bear.
This definitely is much faster paced than the first book. My only complaint about the first was that it felt a bit sluggish, but despite that it was also a great read. While this book could be read without reading the first in series, I don't recommend doing so. Certain aspects would be misses.
Bear is great at character building. They are among some of the most memorable I have read about. I much so have loved reading about Gage in this series. He was once a man, now part automaton. His scenes in this book were very engrossing.
There were questions from the first book which were answered in this, but this book also left questions and loose ends. I am impatiently waiting for the third book for those answers. I am curious to see if I am correct about a few things.

I liked this. I like the Mercy books better, but this really adds to the world. It really adds to how much the reader knows about the wolf packs and how they work. Anna bugs me though. I can't pinpoint why, but she does. Charles is said to be very dominate and tough, but I wish he would do something a bit more badass than we have seen so far... Maybe the next book we will see his killer, pack assassin come out and play. I so hoped he would be some sort of pack spy, like a fuzzy James Bond or something!
I like this much more than I thought I would. I was really interested in Charles and his Omega, Anna, while reading Mercy's books. They are as interesting as I thought they would be.
So I enjoyed this and I do feel the need to read the next book, but within a day of reading it I am finding it wasn't very memorable. I wish goodreads had a half star option. This sits closer to 3.5 than 3 but not a 4.
The characters were a bit flat. I could see this being able to be made longer just by fleshing out scenes and adding depth to the characters. It could be great.
