This book is so cute. Lottie uses her new beach towel creatively to save the day over and over again in this cute book. My son (kindergarten) really enjoyed that he could successfully sound out most of the words in this book by himself. Most books that he can read by himself have a boring story line but this one didn't. He borrowed this book from the library and enjoyed it so much that we ordered a copy for him to add to his collection.
Let me start by saying that by no means is this a “bad” book, I just thought it would be more “adult” than what it is. Even though these charters are 20ish years old, I really think I will appeal to a young adult audience.
I liked Jane, the main character. She seems to be a well rounded, moral person. She does tend to sacrifice her own best interest for that of others. The male love interest, Colt (I think that is his name), was slightly boring for me, but like the book itself, I think a younger audience will have a different opinion of him. He seemed too one dimensional, and young (there is that word again).
Where I was most disappointed was with the romance. This is cleanish, so no dirty sex scenes. Their love was way too quick developing, no chemistry, no build up, it was just instantaneous. Hey, your pretty I love you type of love.
What saved this for me? Well, after all I mentioned, I still have a need to know what happens next, and will at some point continue this series to find out. If I were a younger (that word!) person, I would probably would have given this 4 1/2 stars.

Let me start by saying that the first book in this series was not a hit for me. This one, I love.
This is what I expect from Laurenston. The characters in this book are warriors of Norse Gods. I love the banter and interactions between Jace and Ski, the author is amazing at dialogue and character developement. Ski, a Protector who I I fell in love with almost immediately, is Protector of the Word for the Protectors, meaning he gets to control and protect an amazing library of ancient texts. He is VERY protective of his books, and threatened bodily dismemberment to all who touched them if they hurt them. Jace is a berserker crow, there is a scene where she flips out and goes all berserker that i just love. She has a vast knowledge of language. She is hired by the Ski to translate some of the books they had aquired. Sparks fly, love blossoms, and sweat drips while they bump uglies!
If you like paranormal romance with a large dose of humor, read this. If you haven't tried Laurenston before, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?
This book made me cry but also as a child it made me realize I was not invisible. Whenever I was considering doing something stupid and dangerous this book came to mind. It was kind of like my good fairy sitting on my shoulder. To this day at the age of thirty-two I think of this book even though it's been over 20 years since I read this.
This is broke into three sections. The first third of the book really had my interest, I loved it. The second part was tolerable. I hoped that the third part would pull it back together. NOPE! NOT AT ALL! It changes view points, which was confusing. I feel like I read three short stories where the loose ends were never nicely tied. I am very disappointed because I had such high hopes.

I read this book when I was younger. I am now reading it to my children and they love it. My six tear old son has never liked to be read to but hebis actually enjoying our one chapter a night routine. I think he has developed a slight crush on Beezus. He comments on some of the things that Ramona does to irritate her sister by saying things like ‘Ramona shouldn't be mean to Beezus'. It's funny because he does similar things to his sister.
I love Janet Evanovich's books but I could not get into this one. I found myself skimming through parts of it.
This is the book that started my whole love for paranormal. I just love how Sita is an evil hero type character. She has so many good traits but also some really bad ones. Every time I pick up this book I end up reading the entire series back to back and shutting out the world around me. It is so well written that it actually plays like a movie in my head while I am reading it.
This is great, simple too. The pictures are amazing and make you really want to get up to cook it, not just think about cooking it... lol. I especially liked a section for no-bake recipes. They are quick and tasty.
This is a lot longer than I thought it would be. I expected maybe 30 pages or so. Nope, 240ish pages of yummy.
My girls (11 and 13) are really liking this. They are going through a cooking phase and this gives them many options and ideas to create.

This is the first book I ever read alone as a child. Now it is my son's favorite. We read it together at least once a week at bedtime.
It felt like it was missing half the pages. I really thought I would enjoy it. The first chapter or two was nice but it was all down hill from there.
Enjoyed this better the second time around much more than the intial read about two years ago. I had forgot most the details. I was really into books with loads of romance at that time, I am happy to say that I didn't miss it this time. Yes, there is some, but not like my usual reads. Tastes are changing.
It's been obvious for the last couple of books that these two would be paired up. I really did like this book. I just really wanted to see dee Ann with someone a little more alpha.
I like these. I listen to these types of stories via podcast on my way to and from work via Spotify or some other service.
This one has some grit. Quite a bit of grit. I like grit. The story follows 2 sisters. One hate vampires one is drawn to them jealous of their ability to live in the world rather than hide in fear. One is a soldier fighting the vampire from killing off humans, the other stays within walls feeling helpless. Boy does this story take the things they dispise and make them see other sides of it. It makes them choose between instinct and loyalty. I liked it. I do feel though there is definite room for this type of audio story to grow into so much more as the format grows. I can't wait to listen to season 2 which is out already. I just need to wait til my drive to and from work and sporting events with my son. This one made me take the long way home a few times.
This author is seriously talented. This contains 6 short stories. This book is insane, in a goodway.
I will admit that I didn't read it in the bathroom, it would be a great toilet time read. It was read while waiting in the car for the kids to get out of school, and also while waiting in the doctor's office waiting room. It is a perfect book to entertain you during short periods of time. There isn't a storyline to follow so you don't have to worry about forgetting important things. You can bounce around to whatever section that you are interested at the moment. I really liked this.

I enjoyed it enough to start book two. Nothing spectacular, the storyline isn't unique. The characters stay true to character, which is important to me, not doing so kills a book instantly. Jacob could be a bit more, hopefully his back story will come with book two. I hope book two isn't just a repeat of book one like so many recent series tend to do.
