Plot was impossible to follow and the character development wasn't really there. Though I respect the impact this book had on modern day sci-fi.

I loved all of the hard science in this book. Most of the jokes landed for me and the final third had so much tension. Great pacing, I love the dynamic between the main characters, and the ending felt very satisfying.

Emotionally exhausted, from cover to cover. I had to take long breaks between reading sessions because I knew that once I picked it up it would be bloodydamn hard to put it back down again.

Great pacing, great character moments, and some of the craziest plot twists of the entire series. This book will make you laugh, cry, and hate with your entire being!

A great read! A bit slow plot-wise in the early chapters. Though, that is to be expected for the first book in a series.

The hard magic system really hooked me in the beginning and reminded me a lot of the way powers and magic are explained/used in many anime. It really stole the show in a lot of ways.

Character work was also a slow burn, but I found myself very invested in Vin and the others by the end.

Overall, great book. Definitely going to continue the series!
