The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times

Wrote a review for

Great book. I was looking through the inspirational book section at the bookstore and saw this one. I thought to myself I liked her first book and would like to read this one. Got it through the library and it has been great, detailing her life about overcoming every obstacle she came across. This is very much an inspirational book and somewhat relatable to me at this moment in time.

Good continuation of the story. 3.5 stars. Insurance plot line was okay. Felt like the author wanted to give a happy ending to everyone.

Lessons in Chemistry

Saw the first episode and thought to read the book first. Elizabeth is a progressive woman in the 1960’s. Because it’s set there, there is a lot of commentary on her values and views of the world. It got to the point that it was just too much for me. Saving grace for most of the book was the character of Six Thirty. I would much rather hear their inner thoughts as they go about their day.

The Brothers Karamazov

Been wanting to read it for a bit. Some parts were boring but overall great book. Quite intense emotions for me in some parts. Really got into some of parts, specially the ending having to do with the “courtroom stuff”.
