Such a weird book. Felt like three different stories stitched together — I could see the main character’s evolution, but the changing settings made them feel disconnected. It made me think a lot about menopause, so maybe if I read it later in life I’d connect more. That was the most interesting part for me.

Que livro lindo. É bem curtinho e fácil de ler, mas me arrancou muitos sorrisos. A mensagem do livro é maravilhosa e nos faz pensar a respeito da "utilidade" da arte e cultura no mundo. É um desses livros que vou ler de novo com certeza.

I loved everything about this book. The characters, the mother-daughter relationship, and the historic details in it are amazing. I couldn't put this book down. I've read a lot about german history especially focused in Berlin, but this sort of book is what really makes me feel close to it and not forget what happened.

Such a weird story, but cleverly written and got me stuck to the book. I loved the way the characters were developed, how they deal with trauma, and especially how the female relationships are described. There are racist comments about asians, but it felt to me as these were the main characters opinion, and not necessarily the writers.

Um livro perfeito para conhecer a região da Amazônia de longe, narrada poelos olhos curiosos e sem julgamentos de Drauzio. As descrições são maravilhosas, além de ser uma aula de história e geografia, não só na teoria, mas também se aproximando da população ribeirinha e seu cotidiano.

Já tinha lido A Cabeça do Santo. A escrita de Socorro Aciole é encantadora, emocionante e engraçada ao mesmo tempo. Por mais que eu tenha gostado mais da narrativa e história da Cabeça do Santo, sinto que Oração para Desaparecer me deixou mais intrigada e presa na leitura. Amo os dois!
