It successfully lays out the issues of adult relationships from all angles.
It felt good to have the author reinforce the idea that there is no one type of friendship. As someone, with long distance, and internet friends, it was comforting to be told that those friendships count too.
I believe in science, but I'm always dubious when it comes to scientists trying to quantify and justify things that have shades of grey, and moral implications. But they don't ignore that concern, and as someone who lacks math skills it was interesting to get descriptions of statistics that didn't make my head explode.
There are some serious topics here, but Paul manages to turn it into something hopeful.
