Another lovely cozy fantasy from Travis Baldree. Initially I was disappointed it was a prequel but I got over that quickly. It was nice to meet Viv at the other end of her career, formidable but callow. The supporting cast were as delightful as you'd expect. One was a particular favourite, but I can't say too much about because spoilers. And I want my own Potroast to cuddle, which is a weird sentence to write down.
A splendid slice of gentle fantasy.

An exceptionally beautiful book that takes you back into the genius world of Terry Pratchett via the extraordinary art of Paul Kidby, who has always seemed to me to be the most perfect artist for the Discworld.

A whistle-stop tour through the works of the ‘old tentacle hugger' himself, told with wit and verve. This book serves as a guide to the most readable and enjoyable tales in the Lovecraftian oeuvre (and also gives a heads up for the most overtly racist/sexist/xenophobic content in his stories.
I am pretty familiar with much of HPLs work (like the author my home is filled with Cthulhu-related merchandise!) and I was pleased to see my opinions on his best works pretty much matched the author's.
Perfect for both the Lovecraft appreciator or for someone who wants to try HPL but has no idea where to start.

I enjoyed this book a great deal. Loved the level of comedy, really well balanced. Great characters. All round an extremely enjoyable read.
