I've had this book on my shelves for AGES. Never came to reading them, never felt like it.
But then I saw it on Scribd, and I decided to listen to it.
I loved this book. Complex, great world builing, cool characters. Yes please!
I listened to this book in about a week (?) on my way from and to work. I decided that I never want to listen to the radio anymore in the car.
So, Loved the book, loved the characters, loved the world. Definitly worth the read!
I'm still not sure what to think about this book.
There's not a lot happening. Juliette is just sitting on her chair like ‘oh what am I supposed to do?' and Warner is like ‘i know but I'm not going to tell you because you never asked'
Like I said, not much going on. A lot of background info and only the last part gets a bit exciting.
Still looking forward to reading the last few books!
2023:
Actual Ratig: 3,5
I really don't like Juliette as much as I should. The only thing she does is complain about how hard her life is. We get it girl. But Kenji is * chef's kiss * so we up the rating just for him.
2019:
Actual rating: 4,5.
This book was so much better then shatter me. I was not a really big fan of the first book. This book had a lot of drama and it had a Juliette that wasn't whiny. So, that was a win. I also really loved Kenji , because Kenji is Kenji en what is there not to love about him?
I've finally finished this book and I'm SHOOK.
Holy, that ending left me so scared but also like ‘hell yeah go get them girl' because Genissa is an ass. Her team as well though. Also, is there is shipname for Adrian and Nova because I'm dying for that ship, even though they have probably no future whatsoever.
Little bit spoilery! But just slightly. No major spoilers, I promise!
I'm not really used to adult fantasy. But, this book surprised me in a good way!
I started watching the tv show thinking: ‘oh yeah, the book. I'd love to read it once, but I don't think I'll be able too.'
So, I started watching the tv show and I fell in love with Matthew and Diana. The world looked awesome and the story was so cool, so I started reading the book when I was on episode 7 ( yeah I might have binged it). I didn't want to spoil myself so I held off on watching the finale, but oh well I failed.
The book was a little bit slow at the beginning. I read 30 pages and I was like ‘what the hell did I just read?' But I picked it up shortly after new year and I continued. That was the moment that I knew I just found a new favorite book.
Diana and Matthew are goals. The relationship had some toxic elements, but pretty much all relationships have that. Not to forget that Diana and Matthew are not of the same species. Matthew is like that hot vampire boyfriend you just want to have, and Diana is that awesome witch you want to have as your friend. I was annoyed by Diana a few times, but that disappeared when I got to the backstory. Everything made much much more sense.
The other characters stole my heart. I absolutely loved Sarah and Em and Marcus and Miriam where so cool.
The villains in the story had a good and solid background, so that made their story even better.
I'm so ready for the second book, I just want to continue on with these characters and the world!
So, I wasn't feeling this book when I first started it. I had the idea that it would be a lame book. But it wasn't. I really liked it!
It has the typical ‘Mean Girl Dies And Comes Back As A Better Person' cliche. But, that was all. Loved the characters, did find out who the killer was halfway through the book.
Honestly, I dont really know how I feel about this book.
Wasn't really feeling it at the beginning. Almost on the edge of DNFing the books, but I'm glad I continued. It was good, but not with as much action as I expected. A little slow even, because it was mainly focused on the relationships. But, I liked it. The book was still a great read and I will read the rest of the series!
