This is my third overly femaley emotional book in a row! (Another Chamberlain and before that, a Tricia Creswell). What’s happening to me? These historicized books pick out anti-pc behavior of the past to make us justly angry, and yet… laying on the injustice really thick in this half-anachronistic way also makes it a little of a sleazy read.
