I read this book out of order because I’m a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story, and it really did deliver on that front. I loved the MC’s and their relationship completely, and the spice scenes were spicing.
I did knock the rating down a little for editing issues - some misspellings, which usually I can overlook, but mostly just a persistent lack of contractions. It’s a little baffling - the author does use them but sparingly. I was thrown out fairly frequently by the characters saying things like, “I will pick up the groceries, then I will go back home. I do not want anything to spoil.” Completely made up words by me but illustrates my point. Some lines come of as robotic and awkward instead of sweet or sexy.
I ultimately did really enjoy the story as a whole, I just would’ve loved one good pass through with a red marker.
